When I was 17, I was a student at Modern Education Schools and had the opportunity to participate in the first-ever MES Business Plan Competition. I was actually invited by Mrs.Farida El Ahwal (She is actually the one who interviewed me as a kid to get into the school, but that’s another story.) That experience was an eye-opener—it introduced me to entrepreneurship, and I created my first business model canvas. Looking back, my idea at the time was pretty trivial 😂, but it sparked a journey that I’m truly grateful for today. Fast forward 10 years, and I couldn’t be prouder to have Robusta Technology Group (RTG) —a company built on the same values of entrepreneurship and innovation—sponsor the MES Startup Competition. Even more special was the chance to return as a judge, closing the loop on a journey that started all those years ago. What truly took me aback this year was the sheer capability and innovation of today’s high school students. I witnessed 16 teams from 7 different schools, and it was nothing short of inspiring. These students weren’t just pitching ideas; they were showcasing fully developed app prototypes—and in one case, a team even built a functioning prosthetic arm as their MVP. I was speechless. A huge thank you to Kamelizer Spaces for graciously hosting this year’s competition, always leading by example in supporting the entrepreneurial community. I’m extremely hopeful for what’s yet to come, and I can’t thank Mrs.Farida enough for having me this year.

Celebrating the Next Generation of Innovators! Being part of the MES Startup Competition was a truly inspiring experience. Watching young entrepreneurs take the stage with bold ideas, confidence, and determination reminded us why early innovation matters. Being part of the Africa's Business Heroes Semi Finals on 28th of September 2024 at Kamelizer Spaces as a Marketing Intern at Career 180 was nothing short of inspiring! This event isn’t just about competition in—it’s about empowering Africa’s brightest entrepreneurs, providing them with the resources, mentorship, and funding to drive real impact in their communities and beyond.
