Energy Analyst

Job Description:

We are looking for an energy analyst and consultant to support our team in multiple projects. The main role of this position is to provide a detailed analysis of the information used to optimize the implementation of projects in the energy sector and to make sure that all the plans and decisions are fully data-driven. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Analysis of the Egyptian, African, and Middle Eastern energy market situation and novel technologies status-quo
• Conduct ad-hoc analyses and reports preparation combining methodology, technology, and industry knowledge
• Developing energy concepts, strategies, and regular, relevant consultancy documents
• Implementation of various projects as well as support Nexus Analytica Energy Team
• Further development of technical and energy management knowledge
• Preparing technical and non-technical presentations to the public and private sector
• Support the business development team in building stronger relations with our customers and partners
• Increasing the visibility of Nexus Analytica through specialist articles, trade fairs, conferences, etc.
• Management, monitoring, and evaluation of our current project and operations.

Job Requirements:

• Master’s degree or higher in Engineering, Economics or Business Administration with emphasis on energy, energy markets, or relevant fields
• Fluency in oral and written English, with powerful presentation and scientific report-writing skills
• 3+ years experience in the Egyptian energy/electricity sector
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint)
• Ability to work independently, energetic, motivated, and a team player
• Experience in energy systems modeling is plus
• Experience with a scripting language (preferably Python or R) is a plus
• Knowledge of other statistical packages such as SPSS, STATA, SAS is a plus
