AELIX’s HTI HIV Vaccine Investigational Assets Acquired by Gilead Sciences AELIX Therapeutics, a biopharmaceutical company based in Barcelona, Spain, that focuses on HIV vaccine development, today announced that Gilead Sciences, Inc. (Nasdaq: GILD), based in Foster City, Calif., USA, has acquired its HTI HIV investigational assets. Thomas Hecht, Executive Chairman of AELIX, said: “We are excited that such a prominent company as Gilead, a leader in HIV treatment, prevention and cure research, has decided to acquire AELIX’s HTI therapeutic HIV vaccine investigational assets. The HTI vaccines have shown promising results in phase 1 and phase 2 clinical trials, and we are eager to see this immunogen move forward through this acquisition and potentially become an important aspect of the search for an HIV cure.
