ALBA Study Abroad in Barcelona

ALBA Study Abroad in Barcelona is an accredited program of Portland State University, and a partner of the University of Washington Foster School of Business. For the past 30 years, ALBA have hosted students from all over the United States, Canada and Europe studying a wide range of disciplines at our very unique program based in Barcelona. ALBA is a small, hands-on study abroad program, accessible to a wide variety of students. We offer a culturally immersive experience together with academic excellence by the hand of outstanding professionals from some of the most prestigious universities in Spain. Our classes and internship opportunities allow for maximum personalized and contextual learning in a wide range of fields: Spanish Language, Business and Economics, Communications and Marketing, Social Sciences, History, Art, Geography, Urban Planning and others. At ALBA, we strongly believe in experience as the mother of all knowledge. This is why many of our classes take place on the streets of Barcelona, in museums, libraries, cultural centers and business centers. A partnership between ALBA and Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF) –ranked as the top Spanish university by several publications– allows students to seamlessly take outside courses at the UPF campus. Expanding the range of classes and allowing the ALBA experience to become even richer by studying alongside Spanish and international students at the UPF campus. ALBA is a full member of APUNE (Asociación de programas universitarios norteamericanos en España).
