Following the conclusion of negotiations, we’re thrilled to announce that from 1 January 2025, Switzerland will officially benefit from transitional arrangements for the Euratom Research & Training programme and Horizon Europe. This means that Swiss participants can apply as beneficiaries and, if eligible, will be evaluated. The signing of the Agreement on Swiss participation in Union programmes is expected to take place in 2025, pending the completion of all necessary validations on both sides. This milestone reflects our shared commitment to tackling global challenges, fostering scientific excellence, and driving innovation that makes a real difference in people’s lives. 🚀 Our Catalonia T&I Brussels team attended this week the #EuropeanHealthSummit hosted by European Business Summits. They organized a private roundtable titled "European Strategic Autonomy and Sovereignty in Life Sciences Industry: The Case of R&D Health Hubs in Barcelona." 🧬 The discussion focused on the EU Life Sciences Strategy and Catalonia's expanding role in the European Life Sciences landscape, highlighted by its recent advancements in R&D hubs, particularly in Barcelona. The roundtable featured: 🔸 Ana Coelho, Director of the Brussels office of Catalonia Trade & Investment, chaired the session and detailed the Catalan strategy on life sciences and why it's the best destination in Southern Europe for your health company. 🔸 Carmen Pauline Rios Benton of Doctomatic moderated and explained how Catalonia enhances pharmaceutical and biotechnological innovation capacities. 🔸 Ava Lloyd, showcased the strategic placement and operational successes of AstraZeneca's Global Hub of Health R&D in Barcelona.
