📢 Important Update: Spain to End Golden Visa Program On November 14, 2024, Spain’s Congress of Deputies approved legislation to abolish the Golden Visa program, which grants residency through investment. While existing visas and applications submitted before the law takes effect (expected January 2025) will still be honored, new applications under this route will no longer be accepted. This change follows growing concerns over the program’s impact on housing affordability and aims to address the ongoing housing crisis in Spain. 📢 Italy's 2025 Entry Quota Guidelines Announced! 📢 While in global business mobility, we primarily apply for non-quota permits, you can find more information about the entry quota guidelines for 2025 on our weekly immigration udpate. On October 24, Italy’s Ministries released guidelines for 2025 entry quotas for foreign national workers: 70,720 for non-seasonal employment 730 for self-employment 110,000 for seasonal work Pre-fill applications are open from November 1 to 30, 2024 on the Ministry of the Interior’s portal, with click days scheduled for February and October 2025 based on employment type. This year also includes up to 10,000 spots outside the quota for elderly and disability care. 📢 Immigration Update: Finland – Longer Residence Period Required for Citizenship 📅 As of 1 October 2024, Finland has updated its Citizenship Act, extending the required period of residence for citizenship to eight years. For some applicants, such as those meeting the language requirements, the period remains at five years. Key updates: 📌 Up to 365 days abroad can count towards the residence period, with some restrictions. 📌 Applications from beneficiaries of international protection and stateless individuals are now prioritized for faster processing (within one year). 📌 Applications submitted before 1 October will follow the old rules. 📩 Check out our weekly immigration updates for more details on these changes and other global mobility news.
