🚀 Empowering women is a cornerstone of inclusive and sustainable growth, ensuring the community's active participation in shaping a better future. This is the main purpose of the workshops carried out in the El Harra and El Wahat oases in the Bahariyah region of Egypt by 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺𝘀𝟰𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 partners SEKEM Group and Heliopolis University. 💡 The workshops focused on discussing the interests, aspirations, barriers, and needs of the women of the region to access potential markets, as well as financing and knowledge tools that SEKEM and Heliopolis University can provide. More than 50 local women participated in the event, showcasing their potential in sewing, embroidery, handicrafts, home gardening, and other income-generating activities. 🌱 Teo and Cipriano from Agreenment Join TomaTO-C Living Lab Exchange 🍅 As part of the Farms4ClimateProject, Teodoro Berloco and Cipriano Loiudice from Agreenment took part in an inspiring Living Lab exchange at the TomaTO-C Living Lab in Emilia Romagna Region. Organized by Andrea Ferrarini from UCSC, the visit highlighted innovative solutions to support farmers and the agro-food sector in transitioning toward climate-neutral and climate-resilient farming systems. ✨ Key moments from the exchange: 🚜 Visits to experimental fields practicing carbon farming with regenerative agriculture techniques. 🌱 Demonstrations of advanced MRV digital tools and precision tillage machinery. 🏭 Tours of Consorzio Terrepadane and the liquid fertilizer production factory. 🌍 Discussions comparing regional approaches to Living Labs and regenerative practices. 🌾 The 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝗺𝘀𝟰𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲 Round Tables between Living Labs recently kicked off with a fruitful visit from Egyptian partners from SEKEM Group to the EcoFruit LL in Southern Italy (Agreenment and Università degli Studi della Basilicata), fostering international collaboration and promoting knowledge exchange on regenerative practices, climate resilience, and agritech innovation. 🧑🌾 Over two days filled with activities, the Egyptian team visited two innovative fruit farms, discussed the integration of research with real-world applications at the regional agency for agricultural development and innovation, participated in a workshop on Carbon Farming schemes in the EU at the University of Basilicata, and toured a company that transforms organic waste into renewable energy and high-quality compost.
