The moral duty to act for #socialjustice should NOT be contingent on corporate competitiveness alone. The #OmnibusPackage is nothing more than a dismantling of years of progress in embedding corporate sustainability into law. The proposal represents a drastic reduction in scope, a means of deregulation, a weakening of corporate transparency, and a huge setback for reaching the Paris Agreement on climate change. 🌎 These changes undermine the European Union’s leadership in sustainable policymaking and set Europe back in its progress toward safeguarding people and the planet. The situation is desperate. Now is not the time for backtracking. At Ferrer, we will continue to move forward. 💪✨ #FerrerForGood #SocialJustice #LiveablePlanet
Europe’s sustainability leadership is on the line 🇪🇺 Yesterday, the European Commission announced the Omnibus proposal–a rollback of corporate sustainability laws before they’ve even been fully implemented. If passed, these changes will: 🔴 Weaken corporate accountability by limiting due diligence to direct suppliers 🔴 Slash the number of companies required to report under the CSRD by over 80% 🔴 Undermine transparency, ESG investors' confidence and Europe’s Green Deal ambitions. This isn’t simplification. It’s dismantling years of progress. Businesses, investors and civil society: we must keep on demanding that policymakers uphold corporate accountability, transparency and meaningful impact management. Why? Because the future of our communities and the planet depends on it. ✍️ Read our full statement: https://lnkd.in/dH-aW9hu #Omnibus #CorporateAccountability #DueDiligence #CSRD #CSDDD #CS3D #GreenDeal #BCorp
