🚀 Exciting progress from the recent LUCIA EU Project Consortium meeting in Seville on November 28! 🎉 As part of the meeting, we held a Value Realization Workshop organized by YAGHMA to address key challenges and identify solutions for the LUCIA project. Prior to the workshop, we conducted a thematic analysis to categorize potential challenges into four key themes. These challenges were gathered from interviews with LUCIA clinical partners on the progress of the clinical study, barriers collected through the LUCIA Social lab workshops earlier this year, reviewer feedback for the recent LUCIA Periodic Report, and insights from the LUCIA Stakeholder Advisory Board. 🔍 The challenges were analyzed and categorized into four themes: Study population characteristics Recruiting enough participants Quality of data Informing participants 💡 During the workshop, participants were organized into small groups of three to brainstorm potential solutions for these challenges. Here’s how the agenda unfolded: 1️⃣ Group brainstorming: Participants formed groups of 3 and brainstormed solutions for the challenges. 2️⃣ Voting: Each group voted on the most pressing issues that needed to be addressed. 3️⃣ Open discussion: The top 3 most voted challenges were discussed openly with the entire consortium to explore potential solutions. As a result, we identified 40+ action points that will guide the consortium’s focus as we work towards impactful, real-world solutions for lung cancer screening. #challenges #values #lungcancer #research #horizonEU #screening #solutions #workshop #clinical #clinicalstudy #barriers

🌐 It is World Antimicrobial Awareness Week (#WAAW)! 🌐 We published a new paper today that highlights key research priorities to better inform strategies to tackle #AntimicrobialResistance (AMR) in Europe. The study focused on data needs for the prioritisation of vaccines 💉 and monoclonal antibodies 💊 that can effectively address AMR. We conducted systematic reviews and an expert Delphi consensus to identify key drug-resistant pathogens and patient groups that require urgent attention in future research. Priority pathogens identified include third-generation cephalosporin-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae for patients diagnosed with bloodstream infections, third-generation cephalosporin-resistant Escherichia coli for urinary tract infections, and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus for surgical-site infections. The publication highlights the importance of evidence-based decision-making to fight #AntimicrobialResistance and #savelives!
