🎙️ We are finally properly kicking off the MDR-RA project! Today, our Scientific Coordinator, Prof. Costantino Pitzalis of Queen Mary University of London and Humanitas Research Hospital officially opened the MDR-RA Kick-off Meeting in Milan, Italy with an inspiring message about the project’s bold vision: “Together, we will revolutionize care for #RheumatoidArthritis (RA) by better understanding and tackling multi-drug resistance.” 🔑 Key messages from his address: 🔹 The ambitious iCare-RA predictive tool developed under the lead of Inmusc with the help of the great minds of the consortium, will integrate clinical, imaging, and molecular data to personalize #RA treatments. 🔹 Patients are at the heart of our mission, ensuring every step is patient-centered and truly effective in bettering the lives of people suffering most from RA. Stay tuned for updates as we embark on this transformative journey and feel free to follow us and spread the word! #MDRRA #HorizonEurope #Rheumatology #InnovationInHealthcare #PatientCare #HADEA EULAR - European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology #EUprojects #Innovation #PatientAdvocacy

Inmusc joins the start of a new IHI project to advance imaging in arthritis. European research partners, pharmaceutical companies, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and patient organisations have joined forces under the Innovative Health Initiative (IHI) public-private partnership to improve the diagnosis, treatment decisions, and monitoring of major rheumatic diseases. The newly launched IHI AutoPiX project will leverage AI to make clinical imaging more interpretable to scientists, clinicians, and patients. Vienna, 9 December 2024 — To enhance imaging biomarkers for patients with rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and axial spondyloarthritis, the IHI-funded AutoPiX project brings together world-class pharmaceutical and medical technology partners with leading academic institutions. These immune-mediated inflammatory diseases affect millions of people across Europe—approximately 4 million for rheumatoid arthritis, 1.3 million for psoriatic arthritis, and 3 to 5 million for axial spondyloarthritis. They share challenges, including the need for timely diagnosis at non-specialist institutions, early and targeted intervention, and effective monitoring. The AutoPiX consortium aims to address critical unmet medical needs in imaging in rheumatology. These include limited access to specific techniques, such as ultrasound outside reference centres and hospitals, and precision gaps in selecting the most suitable treatments for arthritis. AI-supported imaging biomarkers could enhance precision medicine and early diagnosis and enable accessible narratives for clinicians and patients. In the words of AutoPiX Coordinator Prof. Daniel Aletaha from the Medizinische Universität Wien, “We will bring imaging closer to the practising clinician and the patient, ensuring that it becomes more accessible, interpretable, and clinically relevant for disease management that requires high levels of expertise”. A significant commitment of the project is to enhance the sustainability and efficiency of imaging. “We have an opportunity to minimize the burden associated with imaging and make the interpretation more efficient and objective,” says the consortium Project Lead, Rob Janiczek, PhD, Director of Clinical Science Imaging (Janssen R&D LLC), representative of the Project Leader Janssen Pharmaceutica NV, a Johnson & Johnson company.

A year has passed since the last general assembly of our project. So many things have happened! In WP8, we're ready to start delineating and cocreating the SQUEEZE care model. Today, we are having the update presentation by Agnes Kocher and, later, a breakout to discuss the processes with Andreas Dam and Jef Van Rompay, among others. Tomorrow, we will involve the whole consortium in a workshop to start thinking about how to make SQUEEZE shine in a care model, led by the InMusc - Instituto de Salud Musculoesquelética, with Estibaliz Loza Santamaria, Teresa Otón Sánchez, and Loreto Carmona, and Kristina Chingov from EULAR, and later a breakout on the stakeholder involvement. So many learnings!!! Go team 🚀!!!

In recognition of Arthritis Awareness Month and World Arthritis Day #WAD2024 on October 12th, we are proud to highlight our ongoing efforts within the SQUEEZE consortium to improve the lives of individuals living with #rheumatoid #arthritis (RA). RA is a chronic, inflammatory condition affecting millions worldwide. It causes joint pain and stiffness and significantly impacts quality of life. This year’s theme, "Informed Choices, Better Outcomes," perfectly aligns with our project's core objectives. Our research focuses on optimizing and personalizing existing treatments, providing patients with tailored therapeutic options to manage their condition better. We emphasize the importance of patient involvement by including patient research partners in all our work packages, ensuring that their perspectives and experiences shape the direction of our efforts. A key component of our work at Inmusc is the commitment to translating research findings from ongoing clinical trials in other work packages of SQUEEZE and published studies into a practical, real-world care model grounded in shared decision-making, i.e., "informed choices, better choices."
