🔬 Big news for the #LifeSciences ecosystem in Barcelona-Catalonia! 🧪The German biotech QIAGEN is set to invest €13 million over the next five years to expand its facilities in Barcelona. 🥼This investment will create a global innovation center dedicated to advancing molecular diagnostics for infectious diseases, opening in early 2026. 🚀 Sustainable water sector in Catalonia sees 74% growth over five years! 💧The business volume of Catalan companies linked to sustainable water use has surged 74% in the past five years, reaching €8.7 billion and contributing 3% to the region's GDP. 👨💼👩💼 This dynamic sector comprises 638 companies employing 26,794 individuals, as revealed in the "Report on the Sustainable Water Use Sector in Catalonia" by ACCIÓ-Catalonia Trade & Investment and the Catalan Water Partnership CWP. 🗣 Jordi Cros Herrero, President of Catalan Water Partnership CWP, highlighted: "The CWP is one of the largest water clusters globally, with numerous companies and researchers ready to tackle future challenges." 🚗 Exciting news for the automotive industry in Barcelona-Catalonia! 🏭 EV Motors has officially begun production of EBRO vehicles at the Zona Franca factory in Barcelona. 👷♂️👷♀️ This launch will create over 500 direct jobs, expanding to 1,250 as operations grow. During the event, the President of the Government of Catalonia, Salvador Illa Roca, highlighted the significance of this milestone. 🗣 Rafael Ruiz, President of EV Motors, stated: "Thanks to the collaboration of institutions, trade unions, investors, and our partner #Chery, we're proud to manufacture cars again in Barcelona's Zona Franca."
