On 3rd December, the International Loneliness Forum will take place at the Vienna City Hall (City of Vienna), focusing on strategies and solutions for the health of children, adolescents, and young adults. At the forum, local and international Good Practices will be presented, and #KALLEAGUN project will be one of them. This event is part of KORALE, Europe’s first initiative to drive public policies against loneliness, and brings together experts, stakeholders, and inspiring projects from across sectors to foster collaboration and share solutions. A Milestone for Inclusivity in Aalst 🚿🧑🦽 We’re thrilled to share that the Stad Aalst (municipality of Aalst), a project partner in the KORALE initiative, has opened a newly accessible bathroom at the local service center! On 17 September, the community gathered to celebrate the renovated space with a public tour, alongside workshops on aromatherapy and ergonomics for better back care. This facility, equipped with a high-low bath, shower, and ceiling lift, is designed to foster dignity and autonomy for all, especially seniors and those with limited mobility. Many residents who previously faced challenges with at-home facilities can now access safe, comfortable support at the center with assistance from home care services. ✨ Last week, the Interreg Europe project training days brought together lead partners, finance managers, controllers, and communication managers from 78 projects approved in the second call! It was a fantastic opportunity to learn, share, and collaborate. 🌍 Our #KORALE team was proudly represented by Sonia Olza (INICIATIVAS INNOVADORAS), Ainhoa Becerra (ADINBERRI), and Katrin Weber (Social City Wien) during the event, which took place from September 24-26, 2024, in #Lille, France. The #KORALE Good Practice RADAR project from Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa has been nominated for the European Social Services Awards 2024 (European Social Network) in the “Excellence in Cities” category. RADAR addresses the problem of social isolation and unwanted loneliness among +65 people in #Lisbon. Through a collaborative partnership led by Santa Casa and involving the Câmara Municipal de Lisboa, local councils, organizations and reference institutions in the city, the project allows us to find faster and more effective responses to meet the needs of this segment of the population. 📢 Exciting news from Vienna! 📍 On September 18th, stakeholders and the board of Social City Wien's Platform Against Loneliness came together for the first time to kick off an important initiative. Their goal? To identify good practices and develop a regional diagnosis to combat loneliness on a local level. The project chose the Viennese Health Goals, a key policy instrument focused on strengthening psychosocial health and health literacy to prevent loneliness and social isolation across various age groups. 📢 Exciting news from Lisbon! 📍 🗓️ On July 4th, the partners of Lisboa Cidade Com Vida para Todas as Ciências met with the aim of starting the KORALE dynamics to identify GOOD PRACTICES in the Lisbon council that aim to break the cycle of social isolation and unwanted loneliness . 🆕This identification process will involve developing a set of dynamics in which we will involve stakeholders and invite projects that are taking place in Lisbon and that have in their essence the activation, involvement and participation of citizens of the City in a situation of vulnerability and isolation. 🤝This is the first challenge of the KORALE Project that will lead to the identification of 24 European Good Practices, under which success factors will be refined that will allow new projects to be developed or existing projects to be improved, also informing the design of public policies in this area of promotion of social cohesion.🔗 🛠️If you have a project/program in hand that aims to combat loneliness and social isolation, pay attention as it will certainly be on RADAR so that you can be invited to present what you are doing.💬 🌟The best two GOOD PRACTICES - submitted to a KORALE jury - will be invited to participate in the next KORALE team meeting that will take place in Vienna, Austria.
