Thrilled to have participated in the Spain-Singapore Expert Dialogue on Neuroscience last week, introducing NEUROSTECH ground-breaking INVERLEASE pumpless device for the efficacious and safe delivery of neurodegenerative therapies. It was an excellent event that will surely boost collaborative research between scientist and companies, as well as foster cooperation between Singapore´s innovation agency, Enterprise Singapore, and Spain´s CDTI Innovación - Centro para el Desarrollo Tecnológico y la Innovación. A big thank you to the Spanish-Singaporean Chamber of Commerce (SpanishCham SG), the Embajada de España en Singapur and the SingHealth Duke-NUS Global Health Institute for the invitation and stellar organization! Special thanks to Fernando de Castro Soubriet from CSIC for his inspiring talk on the relevance of #Cajal, the pioneer of neuroscience, on the 90th anniversary of his death this month. He also highlighted the seminal role of #LorenteDeNó in the birth of #Cybernetics and its current influence on #neuromorphic designs in #AI. A very timely discussion, especially given that the following week, the Nobel Prize in Physics was awarded to John J. Hopfield and Geoffrey E. Hinton "for foundational discoveries and inventions that enable machine learning with artificial neural networks" Juan C. Moreno from CSIC´s Center for Automation and Robotics shared the remarkable progress his team is making in biorobotics and exoskeletons. It was a pleasure to share the stand with Manuela Ruzzoli, Associate Group Leader, Basque Center on Cognition, Brain and Language (BCBL), and fellow entrepreneurs M.Carmen Alvarez Abril, Managing Director, TETRANEURON , and Pablo Belmonte, CEO, Newmanbrain. A diverse group that truly showcases the impact of neuroscience in Spain today. And last but not least, many thanks to our Singaporean panelists, Prof Ng Kok Pin, Senior Consultant, National Neuroscience Institute and Dr Ivan Ho Mien, Consultant, National Neuroscience Institute, for presenting such fascinating initiatives and projects they are currently working on.
