oikos Barcelona is a Local Chapter of oikos International, a non-profit student-driven organization on sustainable economics and management. It’s formed by a group of students of ESADE Business School. Its mission is to provide a platform where students, academia, businesses, government and NGOs collaborate towards a sustainable present and future. Moreover, we aim to enable stakeholders to share and gain knowledge within sustainable economics and management, and additionally to empower today's and tomorrow’s leaders to implement sustainability-driven solutions. Oikos Barcelona wants to create awareness about issues concerning: - Environmental, social and financial sustainability in companies and organizations; - Ethical and responsible business and organizational practices; - Opportunities in the developing world for the private and public sectors. oikos Barcelona is formed by a group of students of ESADE Business School. It was founded in 2011 as Chapter in Accession, and in November 2012 during the annual Futurelab, became Full Chapter. 🌟Dear community, This past Thursday Oikos Barcelona had the honor to host Joelle de Sepibus as our distinguished guest in the Environmental Law Talk 👩🏻⚖️🌍. With an outstanding professional career which encompasses exceptional experiences in the European Commission, EU Council and currently a clerkship in the Supreme Court of Switzerland, Miss de Sepibus illuminated the attendants with her knowledge in Environmental International Law, from its origins to its most recent COPs, Paris Agreement and enforcement challenges🌱. Combining a profound expertise with passion for international law and the environment, Miss de Sepibus insights were definitely inspiring for our academic vision of the issue. Your engagement and enthusiasm have truly made these discussions meaningful and impactful. 🌿 Let us do a quick recap of our journey regarding Sustainable Finance discussions together: 🍀 Session 1: Nov 8th Kicking off with a bang, our first session on "Impact Investments" welcomed Fabiola Fernández-Ladreda Rivera from AltamarCAM Partners and Ariadna Dumitrescu for an insightful discussion. And we were thrilled to report that around 50 people joined us for this first engaging conversation! 📣 🛵 Session 2: Feb 20th In our second session, we explored "Sustainability in Transportation" with esteemed speakers Jan Trullàs Vila from Cooltra and Javier Ortigosa from Àrea Metropolitana de Barcelona (AMB) and Ariadna Dumitrescu. Their valuable insights elevated our discussions, paving the way for future endeavors and more sustainable cities and transportation. 🌿 Session 3: March 7th Diving deeper into sustainability, our third session focused on "Sustainability in Supply Chains." We extend our gratitude to Guillem Bargalló Torrent from IKEA, as well as Miquel Serracanta Domenech from Solutions & Decisions and Fabrizio Ramondini from Glovo along with our esteemed moderator Ariadna Dumitrescu, for their enlightening contributions. Your expertise has sparked insightful discussions that will undoubtedly shape our future behaviors and ways of thinking. 🎉 Session 4: April 16th Concluding our series with a focus on "Corporate Governance and Sustainability," we were privileged to have Ramon Garcia Gay (Professor at Esade, Program Director of the Esade Discerning Leadership Executive Program) and @Jorge Hernández (Partner at Deloitte), and once again, Ariadna Dumitrescu, share their insights. 🏆 ESG INVESTING CHALLENGE WINNERS A round of applause to our ESG Investing Challenge winners: Hannah Gutternigg , Emma Sibout, Sebastian Aguilera Cuellar, and Achille Zerbib !
