The collaboration between MERLIN Properties and Edged Energy in Spain has resulted in two of the most sustainable data centers built in recent years. ☀️ While the average Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) for data centers stands at 1.8 (according to NREL), the Madrid and Barcelona facilities developed by this partnership achieve a guaranteed PUE of just 1.15. ✅ This remarkable efficiency translates into reduced energy consumption, cost savings, and a smaller environmental footprint—a benchmark for sustainability in the digital age. We're proud to share that Onyx Solar Energy has contributed to these two projects by designing and supplying 1.1 MW of photovoltaic glass for the facades of these centers. Spanning over 72,000 sq. ft. of crystalline silicon glass, these solar facades harness clean energy while seamlessly integrating with the buildings’ architecture.
