We were assigned a room which could not seat all attendees and apologize to anyone who could not get in or had to stand. Prof. Hauke Winter and Dr Cosmas D Wimmer, Thoraxklinik am Universitätsklinikum Heidelberg, Germany and Dr Mathew Thomas and Dr Nikolaos Kostoulas from NHS Golden Jubilee, Glasgow, UK observed the surgery and participated in the clinical case presentation and discussion. We were very happy to show how the osteobionix patient-specific solutions are conceived, designed and manufactured in our facilities at Instituto Tecnológico de Canarias. The European Society of Thoracic Surgeons (ESTS) in collaboration with the Chest Wall International Group (CWIG) held the third edition of the Chest Wall Surgery Course in Leuven (Belgium) from September 25th to 27th. The course was coordinated by Dr Hans Van Veer. Twenty-four thoracic surgeons from Europe, Asia, and South America had the opportunity to attend lectures on chest trauma repair, congenital chest wall malformations, tumor resection and reconstruction, and innovative pain therapies delivered by eight expert specialists onsite and thirteen online. The course included an outstanding cadaver wetlab, where participants practiced different innovative surgical techniques. It has been an honor for us to have Dr Jose Aranda as a trainer in the workshop on the osteobionix patient-specific chest wall reconstruction implants.
