The good news is that in Europe it's very easy to identify facilities where scaling is easier, more cost effective and faster than doing it on your own. 🏆 Dues startups catalanes, escollides al programa StartBEC 2025 per innovar en bioeconomia. 🔎 Es tracta de Protheima i POSEIDONA, ambdues ubicades a Barcelona, que desenvolupen solucions relacionades amb els ingredients proteics.

💡StartBEC 2025: Arranca el Bootcamp con siete startups innovadoras en bioeconomía En AINIA, junto con el apoyo del Ministerio de Agricultura, Pesca y Alimentación, hemos dado el pistoletazo de salida a StartBEC 2025, nuestro programa de asesoramiento tecnológico para startups con soluciones disruptivas en bioeconomía. Ahora mismo, estamos inmersos en el Bootcamp StartBEC 2025, la primera actividad del programa, donde las siete startups seleccionadas comienzan a trabajar con nuestros expertos para validar y acelerar sus tecnologías. Spain has become the first EU country to officially ratify the High Seas Treaty at the UN! 🎉 The high seas cover nearly half of our planet, yet they remain largely unregulated and vulnerable to exploitation. The landmark agreement, finalized in March 2023 by the United Nations after nearly two decades of negotiations, sets the path for creating marine protected areas in international waters and ensuring sustainable management of their vital ecosystems. 107 countries have committed and, so far, only 16 countries have ratified the treaty—but at least 60 are needed before it can officially take effect. The High Seas Alliance are a Together #ForTheOcean partner, and have been working on protecting our high seas since 2011. Lost hope this week? Let this speech from Davos spark it back. This is Cristina "Mitty" Mittermeier. One of the most inspiring women in the nature space. She spent 30 years documenting our world-changing. And this is what she has to share: "I want my photographs to inspire people to dream about the possibilities of our planet." "It's still all out there. We still have wildlife." "And live on a planet that is paradise, not a nightmare." "When you spend time with indigenous people, you see how careful they are. They don't take more than they need. They don't hoard wealth for themselves." "As long as we are not losing our humanity there is still hope." "He works at the home depot in the day. But the rest of the time he is a warrior." "If we change our mindset to think about the creatures that share the planet with us, to be our fellow travellers, fellow passengers on the spaceship. We might start treating them with a little more respect, compassion and curiosity for what they bring to the integrity of the ecosystems that keep us alive." We need to amplify voices like hers. So share her work, buy her book, invite her to your companies & co. Giving hope was never easier. Let's all be more selective about who we give our attention and focus to. Her art is on display in Davos; I hope decision-makers are paying good attention to her work and messages. Don't give into despair. Work towards hope. P.S.
