Our architecture office in Sitges, designed a modern family villa on a 900 m² plot in the Vinyet neighborhood, a peaceful residential area near the coastal town of Sitges, Barcelona. The flat plot is ideally situated on a quiet street, offering the perfect setting for a family home with a focus on maximizing outdoor living spaces, particularly the south-facing garden and swimming pool. The design concept for this villa is centered around creating a series of mid-levels that gently emerge from the ground as a solid, opaque ensemble that becomes more transparent as it rises above ground level. These bodies are oriented creating a view into the garden, with large concrete overhangs that offer shelter and protect the interior from excess sunlight, allowing lighting but not heat to enter.

This house is designed as a “terrace” for the best integration of the architecture and the surrounding landscape. This family home consists of 300 m² of living spaces + storage and technical rooms in the basement. The double height of the living room marks the views and creates a connection with the outdoor pool. The master bedroom is on the upper floor and consists of 50 m² and functions as a hotel suite: living room, dressing room, mini bar and a very spacious bathroom. We conceived this villa in La Plana, a residential neighborhood on the coastal town of Sitges, Barcelona, as a glass pavilion with large concrete overhangs to protect the interiors front the sun but still keeping all the natural light. This 600 m² plot is on a quiet street and it has a gentle slope. The proposal focused on making the most out of the south facing garden and swimming pool, and to create a visual transparency connecting the front and back garden. Hope you like it. The open plan living-space is carved out of the natural rock. This energy efficient villa is a new project by Rardo-Architects that is both Class-A rating with a timeless and minimalistic design. Gently sitting on a 1.200 m² plot, this villa had been conceived to be all in one single level.
