La European Holiday Home Association (EHHA) ha presentado una denuncia formal ante la Comisión Europea contra las normativas catalanas que restringen los alquileres de corta duración. Os dejamos con un extracto de su publicación de hoy junta con la nota de prensa: "Consideramos que estas regulaciones son injustificadas, desproporcionadas y discriminatorias, violando así la legislación de la Unión Europea. En la UE, cualquier normativa que limite la prestación de servicios debe cumplir con la Directiva de Servicios. Esta directiva exige que dichas regulaciones sean justificadas, no discriminatorias y proporcionadas. Sin embargo, las restricciones impuestas en Cataluña no cumplen con estos criterios. Las acusaciones de que los alquileres de corta duración exacerban la crisis de la vivienda son exageradas y simplistas. Esta actividad económica es parte de un ecosistema complejo y cualquier análisis debe considerar todos los factores involucrados. Culpar únicamente a los alquileres turísticos es una solución fácil pero errónea. Estamos convencidos de que las autoridades catalanas no han respetado la legislación europea. Por ello, solicitamos a la Comisión Europea que inicie un procedimiento de infracción contra España. Instamos al nuevo gobierno catalán a revisar urgentemente estas normativas y a eliminar las disposiciones que vulneran la legislación europea.
