📏 When analyzing surface texture, Sa (arithmetical mean height) is often the go-to parameter. But is it always enough? 🤔 Take solar cells, for example. ☀️ Their efficiency depends on how much light they absorb rather than reflect. A key parameter here is Sdr (developed interfacial area ratio), which quantifies the increase in surface area due to microstructures.   ✅ A moderate Sdr enhances light trapping and boosts absorption. ⚠️ Too much Sdr can be counterproductive, leading to excessive scattering or manufacturing challenges. ❌ A low Sdr might not trap enough light, reducing efficiency.   Finding the right balance is crucial, making it clear that choosing the right parameters is just as important as the measurement itself.   📖 Want to learn more?
