We have successfully installed the last offshore wind turbine at the Jeonnam 1 Offshore Wind Farm in South Korea 🎉 ✔️ It is the first large scale, privately led offshore wind farm in the country. 📈 This is also a major step forward in South Korea's offshore wind journey as we contribute to its 2050 decarbonization goals. 📍 Located 8.6 km off the coast of Jaeun Island in the Jeonnam province, this 96 MW project marks Siemens Gamesa’s market entry into South Korea's rapidly growing offshore wind sector. We look forward to continuing our journey in South Korea and delivering clean, sustainable energy for generations to come. #WindEnergy #EnergyTransition

Today, we’ve had the honor of welcoming the Secretary of State for Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, Ed Miliband, and the Head of Mission Control for Clean Power 2030, Chris Stark, to our Hull facility. They toured our site with Plant Director Andy Sykes and VP Finance UK&I Ross Dean, had the chance to meet with several of our apprentices and team members and see the blade manufacturing process first hand. During the visit, Ed Miliband announced further details of the UK’s clean power action plan. This visit highlighted the importance of our collaboration in renewable energy projects and our commitment to the energy transition. Did you know that? 🌊 Siemens Gamesa has installed over 10 GW of offshore wind in the UK, which is nearly 70% of the UK's installed wind operational capacity. Our windfarms include some of the largest in the world, such as Ørsted's Hornsea 1 and 2 and Scottish Power's East Anglia 1. 👷♀️ The Hull factory employs over 1,300 people, having recruited more than 600 in the last 12 months. The majority of our workforce lives in the Humber region. ⚙️ To date, the Hull factory has manufactured more than 2,300 offshore wind blades. Currently, we are manufacturing blades for RWE's Sofia offshore wind farm. We are proud to be part of this clean energy mission and to contribute to the growth of offshore wind energy in the UK&I. #WindEnergy #EnergyTransition #Innovation #OffshoreWind

🎥 Empowering future energy leaders! ✨🌍 21 students from Maehwa Elementary School in Uljin, South Korea, have taken part in the Green Energy School program. They explored renewable energy with hands-on projects and a wind farm tour. The students learned about global warming and energy transition, and had fun with hydrogen fuel cell and wind turbine kits. 👩🏫 The highlight? Seeing 15 Siemens Gamesa wind turbines in action and a lively Q&A session at the Hyeonjongsan wind farm. The next generation of green leaders is on the way! Join them on their journey towards a cleaner and brighter future! 💡 #GreenEnergySchool #WindEnergy #Sustainability #GreenEducation #SustainableFuture

🌊 We are thrilled to announce the installation of the final turbine at the Moray West wind farm! In the stunning Moray Firth, northern Scotland, the 60th SG 14-222 DD turbine, capable of generating up to 14.7 MW, is set to transform Europe's energy. This achievement is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team. 🌬️ At our Hull facility in the UK, we manufactured the 180 blades in the past year with a total workforce of around 1,300 employees. The nacelles for the project high up in Europe were built at the southern end of the North Sea: at our factory in Cuxhaven. In fact, they were the first nacelles in the new series of our 14 MW platform, which went into production in September 2023. 🛥️ From the Port of Nigg, our technicians have overseen each installation aboard the 'Wind Orca' vessel, and are in the process of commissioning each turbine. This project not only drives renewable energy forward but also strengthens the local community with new job opportunities and development. Onward to a greener future! 🌱💨 OW Ocean Winds #WindEnergy #Sustainability

🔋 Siemens Gamesa has been chosen by ScottishPower to supply 64 SG 14-236 DD offshore wind turbines for the East Anglia TWO project, a key part of the East Anglia Hub in the United Kingdom. Project Highlights: 🍃 64 SG 14-236 DD offshore wind turbines 🏡 Powering nearly 1 million homes with clean energy 👷♀️ Blades will be produced at Siemens Gamesa's factory in Hull, where we employ over 1,300 people ☑️ Contributing to almost 5% of the UK's 2030 offshore wind deployment target This achievement not only reinforces our commitment to sustainability and innovation but also underscores our capability to lead large-scale projects that significantly contribute to global energy goals. Together, we are building a cleaner and more sustainable future. #WindEnergy #Sustainability #Innovation #EnergyTransition

🌟 Did you think that our #RecyclableBlades could be transformed into a boat?🌟 Resolve Composites did just that, showcasing how cross-industry collaboration can lead to groundbreaking sustainability solutions. 🌍💡 We firmly believe in the importance of sustainability, resource recycling, and a circular economy. This project is a perfect example of how we can repurpose materials and collaborate to create a greener and more sustainable future. #WindEnergy #Sustainability #CircularEconomy
Introducing The Second Wind Project! We transformed a wind blade into a high-end boat. In partnership with Siemens Gamesa, we’re taking innovation beyond the lab, showcasing how cross-industry collaboration can lead to groundbreaking sustainability solutions. "As boatbuilders here in Nova Scotia, recycling a wind blade and building a boat with the materials seemed like an exciting idea. We went to Denmark with the goal of getting a wind turbine blade from Siemens Gamesa. This would demonstrate a real-world application with cross-industry partners, taking innovation beyond the bench." - Nick Bigeau, CTO Resolve Composites Want to know more about The Second Wind Project?
