Today, we had the pleasure of welcoming Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer and her cabinet to #Pier01 in a great chance to share experiences and explore ways to collaborate. Michigan is a major industrial hub with strong connections to Spain, especially in the automotive sector. In fact, Spain is Michigan’s 9th largest exporter, with around $1 billion in annual trade—half of which is transportation equipment. The meeting, organized with the help of ICEX, also included a productive conversation with Quentin Messer, Jr. CEcD, CEO of the Michigan Economic Development Corporation. Together, we identified potential areas of action, particularly in: 🤖 Robotics and industrial tools. 🌱 Agrotech. 💧 Water technologies. Durante la reunión, se han abordado propuestas como: 👉 Seguir reforzando la colaboración público-privada en apoyo a las startups. 👉 Aprovechar las nuevas herramientas impulsadas por el Estado en materia de inversión. 👉 Escuchar a los emprendedores para perfilar una legislación flexible y competitiva a nivel global.
