For Telam, it is a pleasure to sponsor the first edition of the National Green H2 Congress, as representatives of Bloom Energy in Spain & Portugal. This important event, hosted in Huelva, Spain, and inaugurated by Juanma Moreno, President of the Andalusian Regional Government (Junta de Andalucía), has been a very unique and necessary forum to debate alongside leading industry players regarding the vital role of H2 in accelerating the renewable energy transition in Spain & beyond. The future of Spain as an industrialized country depends to a large extent on the deployment of hydrogen. We are lucky enough to have advantages for mass-producing clean electricity, with a green electricity generation exceeding 81% (by 2030), a robust electrical grid, excellent logistical capacity, and a top-notch industrial fabric. However, as Telam's Head of Energy, Luis Crespo, pointed out during his panel discussion, for H2 to be deployed, it is essential to reduce production costs. In large H2 projects, electricity will account for 80% of the cost. Bloom Energy's solid oxide electrolyzers are the most efficient on the market. Any other electrolyzer, for the same annual production, consumes 40% more electricity over the entire life of the installation and requires 40% more installed power. The other critical element in these projects is the reliability of the stacks. Bloom Energy’s solvency (listed on the NYSE), the bankability of its equipment ($5B in project finance), and its extensive track record (> 1 GW of fuel cells installed and operational with absolute reliability at Fortune50 companies) are key elements providing confidence when choosing the right #SolidOxideElectrolyzer supplier. Bloom Energy electrolyzer stacks are essentially the same as those used in fuel cells but work in much less stressed working conditions, which guarantees their life span. With its new gigafactory in California, a production capacity of 2 GW/year, a strongly consolidated supply chain, and no dependence on precious or scarce materials, Bloom Energy hopes to contribute to the success of H2 project developers in Iberia, positioning us as leaders in this new energy revolution. Thank you to the team at Congreso Nacional Hidrógeno Verde. Telam looks forward to making the most out of the rest of this event, and hope to see you again next year!
