We are thrilled to have hosted the Volta River Authority (VRA) team at TTA's office, in collaboration with our partners Studer Innotec and CEGASA Energía, S.L.U, for an intensive and impactful training program. 📊 First stop: Barcelona, Spain Our offices hosted an engaging workshop focused on monitoring and metering. Together, we explored VRA's local context, identifying priorities and needs through interactive discussions. 🔋 Second stop: Vitoria, Spain At CEGASA's factory, alongside Lorenzo Maria Filippo Albertini, participants received specialized training on lithium-ion batteries, diving deep into this cutting-edge technology. The session included a troubleshooting workshop, addressing challenges from recent installations. ⚙️ Final stop: Sion, Switzerland At STUDER Innotec’s headquarters, alongside Niccolo Ficarelli, the focus was on multi-functional battery inverters and solar charge controllers. This session provided insights into their operations, benefits, and versatile applications. The highlight? Visiting an off-grid system with STUDER components, set in the stunning Swiss Alps! We are excited to announce that NAHOMIE MARIE LUCIE - AUGUSTE and Lourdjina Tham have joined the Women in Renewable Energy (WIRE) Mentorship Program, joining 14 inspiring women from 8 Caribbean countries. Here's how they describe the experience: “This program has given me the chance to connect with exceptional women in the field, share experiences, and gain the confidence to move forward in my career. It’s empowering to learn from others who are making a real impact in the sector.” “It’s an opportunity to reflect on my career, enhance my skills, and develop new ones to tackle challenges and make informed decisions. What excites me most is the community it fosters, where I can learn from women with vast experience, ask questions, and share my journey. Their insights will help me navigate my career with more confidence.” We’re equally thrilled to share that Rouché Ronosemito has been accepted into the EMP-LAC 2025 Spatial Data Management and Analytics for Integrated Energy Planning Program. “This program will deepen my expertise in spatial data-driven energy planning and enhance my understanding of how governments are striving for universal energy access by 2030.” We are incredibly proud of having a team committed to excellence. Today, on the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, we reaffirm a critical truth: there is NO excuse for violence. At TTA, we stand united against all forms of violence—physical, sexual, psychological—because these acts are not just crimes but manifestations of deep-rooted discrimination, inequality, and power imbalances. The statistics are staggering: 1 in 3 women globally has endured physical and/or sexual violence at some point in her life. This is not just a women’s issue; it is a societal crisis. Violence against women hinders equality, stifles development, threatens peace, and violates fundamental human rights. The promise of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to ""leave no one behind"" is hollow if we do not end violence against women and girls. ¡El pasado viernes 25 de octubre en TTA estuvimos de celebración! Pudimos viajar en el tiempo y revivir el transcurso de la empresa. Fue la oportunidad para destacar el carácter pionero que ha marcado a TTA desde 1981, en el sector de las energías renovables y en el acceso a la energía. Rendimos homenaje a dos de sus fundadores, Xavier Vallvé y Jaume Serrasolses. Gracias a su pasión y dedicación seguimos aquí hoy trabajando por una misma misión. Entre risas y algunas lágrimas de emoción, agradecimos a Nuria Bohigas y a Gemma Díaz su labor en la empresa durante tantos años. Y también a Maribel, quien ha sido imprescindible para que la actividad de TTA perdurase hasta el día de hoy. Además, tuvimos la suerte de contar con la presencia de casi todo el equipo internacional en conjunto en Barcelona. Así, pudimos compartir momentos con nuestro equipo diverso y valioso, el cual demostró tener muchos talentos y su compromiso en las actividades propuestas, ¡como cada día! We share Alianza Shire's interview made to our Project Manager Sergi Pedra Blasi PMP. Thanks to his dedicated effort and that of our local Project Manager Amanuel Ayalew, the commissioning engineer Daniel K. Mwangi, local technicians and our Barcelona based engineering team, the mini-grid is a reality today at the refugee camp of Kobe (Somali region, #Ethiopia). TTA, as the EPCC contractor, together with all the Stakeholders that participated in the project, have worked to provide 24/7 for 365 days uninterrupted #electricity to the community services of the refugee camp, i.e. hospitals, schools, recreation centers, local government offices and offices of international organizations. We celebrate this milestone, together with the #people who will benefit from this project.
