In the aftermath of the Los Angeles wildfires, the Volvo For Life Fund is donating to our global partner Save the Children International to help reopen childcare and early learning centres. The recent Los Angeles wildfires have severely disrupted daily life for residents, including school children. Save the Children is addressing immediate needs, helping childcare providers re-open, and offering mental health support to children.  The Volvo For Life Fund will support ten childcare and early learning centres in purchasing the educational supplies, furniture and equipment needed to reopen.  This follows Volvo Car USA’s $100,000 donation to Baby2Baby, which provides emergency supplies to affected parents and babies. The Volvo For Life Fund aims to positively impact a million lives over time by supporting community initiatives where we operate. We hope this effort will help make an immediate, positive difference in the lives of the affected school children.

  • This morning, we reported our financial results for the full year 2024. It was our second consecutive year of record volumes, revenues and profits. Our core operating profit (EBIT) for the period, excluding joint ventures and associates, came in at SEK 27 billion, while full-year revenues exceeded SEK 400 billion for the first time in our history. Our core EBIT margin landed at 6.8 per cent and full-year free cash ended up positive at SEK 1.1 billion.    “2024 was a year of two halves,” says Jim Rowan, our chief executive. “For the first six months, we recorded strong double-digit volume growth. But like the rest of the industry, we experienced a more challenging second half. Demand slowed down and this had an impact on both our sales pace and underlying profitability, and we expect 2025 to be challenging. Nevertheless, we can look back at 2024 with a sense of achievement in several areas and we are positioned well to achieve our long-term ambitions.”    At 08.00 CET today, Jim along with our CFO Johan Ekdahl and Chief Engineering and Technology Officer Anders Bell will host a webcast. • It’s the beginning of a new year, which means that it’s time for some exciting model year updates. For the upcoming model year, we’re bringing two major tech upgrades to our XC40, EX40, EC40, S60, V60, V60 Cross Country, V90 and V90 Cross Country models. We’re introducing Volvo Car UX, our new-generation, new-look user experience, as well as a new hardware upgrade that makes the infotainment system much faster and much more responsive. The new Volvo Car UX, already seen in the EX30 and EX90, is designed to be a safe and enjoyable way to interact with your car’s central infotainment screen. It’s more focused and personalised than its predecessor, with several Google services built-in. As previously announced, we will also deliver the new Volvo Car UX to millions of Volvo Cars with Google built-in. Later in 2025, around 2.5 million customers around the globe will get an upgrade on their Volvo cars built as early as 2020. with a simple over-the-air software update. On the hardware front, the infotainment system will now be powered by the Snapdragon® Cockpit Platform from QUALCOMM TECHNOLOGIES . This makes the infotainment system more than twice as fast as the outgoing system, with a graphics generation that is up to 10 times faster. The upgrade will also be available in the new XC90 SUV. And for our customers in Europe, the EX30, EX40 and EC40 models will include the Plug & Charge service, which simplifies the public charging process by automating authentication and payment at compatible stations. Stay tuned for more 2026 model year updates coming soon. The availability and timing of the 2026 model year versions will vary from market to market.%

We’re bringing our next generation user experience to millions of Volvo cars worldwide.    With our new user experience in our all-electric EX90 and EX30 cars, we aimed to create a system that helps you go about your daily life with your car in a safe, focused and enjoyable way.    This user experience is now being incorporated into our new XC90 flagship SUV, too. But since it’s been designed from the outset to adapt and scale to fit different screen shapes and sizes, you don’t need to buy a new car to get it.     We will also deliver it to millions of customers who drive a Volvo car with Google built-in around the world - at no charge. During 2025, around 2.5 million customers around the globe will receive an upgrade on their Volvo cars built as early as 2020, with a simple over-the-air software update.    Our strategy is to make our cars better over time with regular over-the-air software updates. We can’t wait to make good on this strategy by bringing next generation technology to our existing customers.

  • Decarbonisation isn’t about degrowth—it’s about building resilience, reducing costs, and unlocking new opportunities. At the World Economic Forum, our CEO, Jim Rowan, joined the panel on Industrial Decarbonization as a Growth Strategy to share Volvo Cars' vision: Clean Energy Transition: Accelerating the shift to renewables and phasing out fossil fuels. Electrification: A key driver for reducing emissions, creating jobs, and staying competitive. Sustainable Supply Chains: Localising production and embracing circular economy principles to cut CO₂. Policy Alignment: Consistent regulations and partnerships are critical for lasting impact. Decarbonisation is a growth strategy for a #sustainable future. Together, let’s drive #change.
