During the last 2 days, we participated in the governing board meeting of the Water4All - Partnership. Discussions about the work done and future actions. Interesting dynamics to imagine the water's future: with Scott Grønnegaard Allison and Delahaye Catherine, we have been discussing actions to achieve good water quality status in our rivers, lakes and oceans. Water4All - Partnership includes more than 90 partners collaborating to tackle water challenges to face climate change and boost the EU’s competitiveness and growth. ZINNAE participates in boosting innovative solutions, supporting companies and promoting vocational training. Moreover, we are one of the Water Oriented Living Labs identified by the partnership.

🎞️ 🚣♂️ Innovation delivered: Naiadnet sensor provides an immediate water quality monitoring. 🤢 🫸 When using water sources for recreation, we expect water to be clean and blue-green algae free. But phosphates from land can get into water easily, compromising the water purity. And quality checks in laboratories take time. 💧 ✅ The Naiadnet sensor brings the solution. The sensor is placed in the water where it stays during the whole season. It measures the total phosphate levels and sends the results directly to the central server, allowing instant monitoring of the water quality and providing predictions for blue-green algae growth. Upstream Horizon is working on monitoring and eliminating microplastics (MP) in EU rivers and the prevention and valorisation to reduce river pollution. One of the five demo sites will be developed in the Ebro River in one of Ayuntamiento de Zaragoza's wastewater treatment plants. The demo site consists of installing membrane technology for MP removal. Our project partners, Leitat Technological Center and #Ecociudad Zaragoza, will lead this demonstrative pilot in collaboration with Aqualia.
