It takes a certain kind of person to work in PR. Someone who needs the pressure of a deadline and can't work without a ticking clock. Someone who thrives in a crisis and shines when everything goes to hell. Someone who doesn't mind constant rejection since 90% of pitches don't work out. Someone who is held to a "what have you done for me lately?" impossible standard. Someone who plans things meticulously yet understands those plans are moot 5 minutes later because the default setting is chaos and change. Someone who makes amends with the fact that everyone else thinks they can do your job better. Someone who routinely wakes up out of a dead sleep at 2 am because they're worried they misplaced a comma on a release scheduled for that morning. Someone who is OK with never truly being off because the media never sleeps. It's a strange world in which PR people live but we do it because we can't live without the pressure, the high of a great placement, and the mad scramble of crisis communications. Are we a little warped? Sure. That's fair. But we tell great freaking stories and we're never bored. #pr #publicrelations

Es todo eso y mucho más… dején de comparar el valor de las relaciones públicas con el marketing digital pueden ser complementarias más no sustituyen una a la otra. Cada cual tiene un respectivo valor ❤️, las relaciones públicas siempre tendrán un toque más humano y no hay tecnología que sustituya esa parte.
PR isn’t media relations. PR isn’t writing press releases. PR isn’t writing bylines. PR isn’t analyst relations. PR isn’t measurement. PR isn’t messaging. PR isn’t crisis communications. PR isn’t media training. PR isn’t de-positioning competitors. PR isn’t thought leadership. PR isn’t event management. PR isn’t social media strategy. PR isn’t social media writing, calendaring & posting. PR isn’t a speaking program. PR isn’t an awards program. PR isn’t storytelling. PR isn’t always-on consultation for the C-Suite. PR isn’t attracting VCs or other funding sources. PR isn’t about creating a halo effect on your brand 😇 PR isn’t any one of these things. It’s *all of them* and many more. 🤯 So the next time some LinkedIn “guru” tells you that “PR is a dying industry,” don’t take the bait. Instead, keep elevating the clients who understand the insane value you bring to their marketing mix 💰 And wave to the naysayers as you skyrocket past them 🚀 This is the way ✊ #publicrelations #marketing

Afirmar que la Comunicación no funciona es un error. Lo que sucede en muchos casos es que la estrategia o la ejecución no son las adecuadas 🛠️. Una estrategia de comunicación bien ejecutada 📈 aumenta el conocimiento de marca y construye relaciones sólidas y confiables con las diferentes audiencias 🤝. Cuando una empresa comenta que ha probado con la Comunicación y no ha visto resultados, por lo general, el esfuerzo realizado fue una táctica fallida 🚫. La Comunicación va mucho más allá de la relación con los medios 📰, sin embargo en muchas ocasiones este suele ser el punto de partida - y final - de los esfuerzos de muchas empresas en este ámbito.
“We tried PR. It doesn't work.” I wholeheartedly disagree. It’s not that PR doesn’t work. It’s that something in the strategy or execution was off. PR helps you increase awareness and establish trust so you can build and maintain relationships with your audience. That, when executed correctly, works. When companies tell me they’ve tried PR and it didn’t work, they often mean that they sent out a press release... and nothing happened. While PR is more than just media relations, that’s usually where companies start - and end - their PR efforts. So what goes wrong? Likely one (or more) of the following: 👉 They don’t have a clear purpose for why they are pitching. They want to get press coverage but can't say what they want to happen as a result. 👉 They don’t have their messaging figured out. 👉 They don’t consider their audience and pitch the wrong outlets. 👉 Their website isn’t ready and they don’t have a way to capture and nurture new visitors. 👉 (Most likely) They don’t have the patience or stamina to see it through. PR isn’t a one-and-done/check-the-box strategy. If you want to get true ROI from your PR efforts, you must put in the work and commit to doing it for the long haul. PR is a marathon, not a sprint.
