But, after this moment, we will need to support the reconstruction, which may take 2 to 3 years to complete. That's why the Casa Fund is starting to act now, with the creation of the Rebuild RS Fund, in a campaign for life that aims to support the local and traditional communities affected by the floods in 4 strategic areas: Community initiatives for income generation, Family agriculture and agroecology, Community infrastructure, and Psychosocial and mental health support. With roads submerged and bridges destroyed, these communities are cut off from aid. Despite the challenges, Moms Against Poverty is on the ground, distributing food, blankets, and basic provisions to children and families affected by the catastrophe. 🌿 Giving Back to Our Community Parks: A Responsibility and a Blessing 🌿 Today, I had the chance to volunteer at our local park—planting wild flowers, cleaning up litter, and helping maintain the greenery that so many of us enjoy. It was an incredibly rewarding experience that reminded me of the value of community and our duty to care for the environment around us. From an Islamic perspective, caring for our surroundings is more than just a good deed—it’s an act of worship. 🌱 The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasised the importance of caring for the earth, saying, “If a Muslim plants a tree or sows seeds, and a bird, a person or an animal eats from it, it is regarded as a charitable gift (sadaqah) for him.” [Sahih al-Bukhari] Islam teaches that every action we do with good intention is counted as an act of charity. Taking time to care for our parks not only benefits our community but also aligns with our spiritual values. It’s a way to show gratitude for the blessings we’ve been given, while ensuring that future generations can enjoy these spaces too. 🌍 Let’s all make an effort to contribute to our local environment, whether it’s through volunteering, planting trees, or simply keeping our spaces clean.
