No me hagáis caso a mí.   Hacedle caso a Adrian Newey, el mejor ingeniero de la F1 de los últimos tiempos:   "I also feel, frankly, that the prescribed electric route, which most European governments have gone down, is not the right route. They’ve done the typical governmental thing of rather than saying, ‘This is a problem’, which I totally agree with, we need to do something to help save the planet, to improve ecology, etc., rather than say, ‘Right, this is the target, you OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturer) go away and come up with some proposals’. They’ve said, ‘This is what we want, and this is what you will do. You will now go fully electric’. Don’t get me wrong, I think electric has definitely its applications. It’s a great technology. It’s clearly developing fast. But to say that’s the prescribed technology and that’s all you can have, without allowing the manufacturers to go away and do the research to come up with alternatives, I don’t agree with that. 🛻 Self-driving vehicles let people be where they’re most needed – Autonomous Haulage Systems (AHS) solutions and considerations 🛻 AHS enables automation of mining operations and reduces the risk of accidents by minimizing the number of people required to be around mining equipment. As well, it helps avoid downtime usually associated with manned machines, allowing greater equipment availability while reducing fuel consumption and emissions. 🛻 However, as with the implementation of any new technology, there are many considerations as to exactly how it will fit into an organization’s pre-existing structure and how new systems will be conceived and implemented. Consider the following: 🛑 What do you expect to gain from this technology? Consider the clarity of the objectives to be achieved with these new technologies. 🛑 Is your original equipment manufacturer a supplier or a strategic partner? Consider the thoroughness in defining the technical bases for equipment acquisition. 🛑 Contracts must clearly define the roles and responsibilities of each party involved in system implementation and operation. Consider the development of a balanced contract between partners. 🛑 Are you starting from scratch or retrofitting conventional operations? Consider mining planning with a comprehensive understanding of autonomy incorporation. 🛑 Do you have the right IT/OT systems and expertise for implementation, dissemination and maintenance? Consider how change management will enable a shift towards AHS. 🛻 Does your organization use AHS? What are your experiences with it?
