🌟 WELCOME TO THE MONTHLY CHALLENGE! 🚀✨ --JULY'S CHALLENGE--. Today we want to discuss a crucial and often overlooked topic: the importance of CPR in women. 💪💖 We know that cardiac arrest does not discriminate and can affect anyone, at any time. However, studies have shown that women are less likely to receive CPR compared to men when they suffer a cardiac arrest in public. This is worrying and we need to change it together. 🚑💔 Female anatomy and physiology have some differences that can influence the way CPR is practiced. That is why we at PractiMan have designed the Female Skin, a female CPR manikin specifically designed to train CPR techniques with these differences in mind. 🌟 💬 How do you think we can increase confidence in CPR for women? #PractiMan #CPR #CPR #FemaleSkin #SaveLives #CPRTraining #EqualityInHealth ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 🌟 ¡BIENVENIDOS AL RETO MENSUAL!

En Cuenca, publicamos los primeros 16 pacientes con más de 90 años en: “Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography in patients 90 years of age and older: increasing experience on its effectiveness and safety.

Medical misogyny The following article is a great example of something I raised earlier in the week about the way defaults can shape our thinking and lead to poorer outcomes for groups of society. A similar issue persists today with safety testing of passenger vehicles, with little requirement currently in place to test features such as seatbelts on manikins simulating women (broadly) or pregnant women (more particularly), resulting in a much higher injury and fatality rate from car accidents. This is an area where governments can and should step in to mandate that product design address implicit and explicit gender bias before products ever make it to market. https://lnkd.in/g9Tmtie2

😬Do you constantly tell your child to sit up and look straight when you take photos 🙃Have you noticed that your child is always tilting their head to one side in their school photos 😳Does your child complain of neck pain and headaches regularly on the one side of their neck If you answered YES to the above statements, then your child might have an undiagnosed Torticollis as a baby which wasn't treated and has now left them with a permanent tilt in their head and neck pain. 😳To determine if your child have Torticollis complete the check list below: o Your child's head always tilt to one side when they are resting in sitting. o Your child can turn their head easily to one side more than the other. o Your child says their neck muscles feel tight and stiff on one side more than the other. o Your child can bring their ear to shoulder easily to one side more than the other. o Your child complains of headaches and neck pain always on one side more than the other. If you ticked one or more of the statements above, then your child is likely to have Torticollis causing for their neck pain and stiffness. 🤔Torticollis is caused by the abnormal development of the Sternocleidomastoid muscle that connects the chest bone, to the collar bone to the bone at the base of the head. This muscle was never formed properly while your child was developing as a baby in the womb, as such it is often a tighter and stiffer muscle. If correctly diagnosed and treated as a baby and over the growing years from brith to 21 years old, the impact of Torticollis is minimal as an adult. Unfortunately, many mild cases of Torticolliis is missed and children grow up into adults with a persistent head tilt and neck pain. 😢 So if you are concerned that your child may have an undiagnosed Torticollis causing their head tilt and neck pain, ring Sydney Kids Physio 📱on (02) 9790 4233 or DM us @myfavouritephysio to speak to one of our Expert Paediatric Physiotherapists today!💪 #neckpain #myfavouritephysio #neckpainrelief #torticollis #headaches #headacherelief #physio #physiotherapy #bankstown #peadsphysio #sydneykidsphysio

Falls and spills can sometimes end up with disastrous injuries like broken bones. 😢Broken bones are common injuries and many children will experience one fracture in their growing years. Because children's bones are growing rapidly, they are more flexible and may not break completely. Instead what we see is a Greenstick Fracture, this is where the bone tends to bend but not break completely. 🧐 A greenstick fracture is often treated using a cast or splint for 4 to 8 weeks depending on the location of the break, the severity of the break and the child's age. 👧 After the cast is removed, it is not uncommon to find your child still limping when they walk, like they are still wearing a cast. Or to find your child not using their hand like their used to before the greenstick fracture. Most children will recover within a few weeks, but some children still persist with a limp or not use their arm properly after 2-4 weeks. This is when it is important to seek professional advice.👩⚕️ Persistent limp or avoiding the use of one arm after a fracture can cause secondary problems like hip or knee pain on the opposite leg, or muscle imbalance in the good arm and back. If your child has had a recent greenstick fracture, and is not back to their active self after 2-4 weeks, ring Sydney Kids Physio on📱 (02) 9790 4233 or DM us @sydneykidsphysio to speak to our Paediatric Physiotherapist today. #greenstickfractures #myfavouritephysio #paedsphysio #kidsphysio #brokenbones #physio#physiotherapy #earlyintervention #bankstown #sydneykidsphysio

🤔Thinking of getting a Baby Walker as a gift for someone Not sure if you should get a Baby Walker for your own baby 👶🏻 Contrary to the name Baby Walker, research has shown that Baby Walkers do not 🙅♂️help a baby learn to walk, instead the research shows that babies who did use Baby Walkers were slower to crawl, pull to stand and walk than babies who did not use Baby Walkers! 😳 In fact, the use of Baby Walkers puts a baby at increased risk of the following injuries: 😳Head Injuries - Baby walkers allow babies to move quickly across the floor, which can lead to falls down stairs or other elevated surfaces, such as ramps or uneven terrain. These falls can result in serious injuries, including head injuries and broken bones. 😳Injuries from Tipping - Baby walkers are often top-heavy, making them prone to tipping over. When a baby pushes against a wall or tries to maneuver over a threshold, the walker can tip, causing the baby to fall and potentially get trapped underneath. 😳Burns and Scalds - Babies in walkers can reach higher surfaces, such as stovetops, countertops, or hot appliances, putting them at risk of burns or scalds if they touch hot objects or spill hot liquids. In addition, Baby Walkers tend to encourage babies to learn to walk on their tip toes, a habit that is difficult to break later on. 🤦♀️So don't place your child at unnecessary risks of injuries without any proven benefits for improving their gross motor skills. If you are concerned that your child is not yet crawling, pulling to stand or walking, reach out to speak to one of our 🤓Expert Paediatric Physiotherapists at Sydney Kids Physio on 📱(02) 9790 4233 or DM us @sydneykidsphysio. #babywalking #myfavouritephysio #babywalkers #earlyintervention #beabetteryou #expectmore #paedsphysio #kidsphysio #physiotherapy #physio #bankstown #sydneykidsphysio
