🚆 Digitalization of Norway's Railway System: A Success Story! 🚆 Norway's railway system is undergoing a digital transformation, and the results speak for themselves. The first line equipped with ERTMS, Gjovikbanen North, has been in commercial operation for 100 days, demonstrating the significant impact this technology has on system performance. By adopting ETCS Level 2, the capacity of this 67 km line has increased by 50%, marking a major step toward smarter, more efficient rail transport! 🌟 Some facts about Gjovikbanen: • 67 km long line from Roa to Gjovik • 399 balises • 31 point machines • 103 axle counters • Operated from one centralized interlocking in Oslo This week I had the opportunity to present this milestone to international media together with Sverre Kjerre and @Birger Steffensen at the BaneNor Test-and-Training Center Campus Nyland, a unique location to train BaneNor's staff for the digitalization of the Norwegian Railway Network. My heartfelt thank you goes to Sverre and the Bane NOR Team for having us as well as to our dedicated #TeamSiemensMobility on site who showed everyone how the digitalization of rail is happening!

🌱 Leading the way in sustainable transportation, we proudly delivered the first two of seven #Mireo Plus B battery trains to Midtjyske Jernbaner Drift A/S. This marks the premiere of #battery trains in Denmark, replacing diesel trains and moving towards CO2-neutral train traffic. These trains operate silently, offer high driving comfort, and improve passenger experience. ⚡️Our innovative battery trains showcase the new possibilities for sustainable train transport, especially in areas where catenary lines can't be set up. Currently, the trains are getting homologated for passenger service, allowing West Jutland passengers to experience modern and comfortable transport. #TransformMobilityForEveryone

On this day, over 120 years ago, Germany's first elevated and underground railway opened, marking a historic milestone! 🎉 Join us on our time travel to see how our innovations shaped urban life as we know it today. Imagine Berlin in the late 1800s - a bustling city of horse-drawn carriages and the bustle of a growing metropolis. In the midst of it all, Werner von Siemens had a revolutionary vision: electric trains weaving above the streets on iron pillars. 📃 In 1896, after years of challenges and opposition, Siemens & Halske finally received permission to build Germany's first elevated and underground railway, linking Warschauer Brücke to Nollendorfplatz. 🛠️ Construction began in September 1896, with tight deadlines and sceptics at every turn. But on the 15th of February 1902, the first section from Stralauer Tor to Potsdamer Platz in Berlin was finally completed and opened for daily commute. ⏱️ This 11km marvel carried nearly 19 million passengers in its first year and laid the foundations for Berlin's underground network, which quickly expanded to over 35km by 1913. Stay tuned for the next post to see how our pioneering approach continues to shape the future of urban transport worldwide to #TransformMobilityForEveryone.

  • In Berlin, we're bringing the future of urban transit to you! ✨ As pioneers in rail technology, we’re committed to helping reduce the environmental footprint of urban travel while boosting the efficiency of your daily commute. Imagine less wait time whenever you commute — and get across the capital in the record time. This isn’t just about trains; it’s about making Berlin more liveable and more sustainable — for you and all commuters. Let’s make it happen — one ride at a time. 🚆❤️ #TransformMobilityForEveryone
