Judicial independence is not just a legal principle it is a cornerstone of a thriving democracy that safeguards the rights of individuals and maintains the integrity of the legal system. An independent judiciary ensures that judges can make decisions based solely on the law, without fear of interference or repercussions. This autonomy is foundational for a democratic society, as it upholds the rule of law and protects individual rights and freedoms. When the judiciary operates independently, it fosters respect for human rights and civil liberties. Futhermore it contributes to political stability and the effectiveness of democratic institutions. In contrast, a judiciary subject to external pressures can lead to arbitrary rulings, undermining public trust and the principles of democracy and human rights. #Judicialindependence #Humanrights #Immunityofjudges

The use of indigenous conflict resolution mechanisms is one of the principles governing the Ethiopia transitional Justice policy. Even though we believe this incorporation will benefit the process to make a grassroots change and create national ownership. We strongly advise that indigenous conflict resolution mechanisms be studied, and make certain their inclusion of women and are victim inclusive(victim centered). #InclusiveTJ #VictimcenteredTJ #AHRE #CEHRO

"Justice delayed is justice denied" conflict related sexual violence(CRSV) survivors demand justice to be served impartially and without making any exceptions and as timely as possible. Considering what survivors went through during the conflict and the extent to which it has affected their lives, they are still in need of basic necessities. We urge the government to address the needs of CRSV survivors with special attention to urgent medical care. #Transitionaljustice #AHRE #InclusiveTJ
