This past Saturday, MOENCO hosted a highly impactful Spine Health Awareness Session in recognition of World Spine Health Day, celebrated annually on October 16. The event, held at the Main Branch Workshop Area, was an inspiring and engaging experience for everyone involved! The session featured Dr. Selam Aklilu, a renowned Chiropractor, Medical Doctor, Chair of Wellness Medical Services PLC, and Senior Facilitator for the Center for African Leadership and Development (CALD), as the keynote speaker. Dr. Selam delivered insightful remarks on the importance of spine health, highlighting simple yet effective steps to protect the spine and improve overall wellness. Coach Daniel Afework then took the stage, bringing energy and excitement as he led a practical exercise session called "10 Minutes for Health" (አስር ለጤና). This engaging activity provided employees with practical techniques to improve spine flexibility, boost posture, and prevent common back issues—making wellness accessible to all! Following the successful launch of the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid, MOENCO took another significant step by organizing a specialized EV Emergency Responder Training on October 15, 2024, at its Southern Addis Branch. This event highlighted MOENCO's dedication to promoting sustainable transportation and supporting the community. MOENCO's Aftersales Director, Ato Yonas Wolde, opened the event with a powerful speech emphasizing the importance of safety and preparedness in the era of electric vehicles. The HSE Team and Training and Development Team provided expert training to 21 Fire Brigade instructors, equipping them with essential skills for handling Hybrid, Plug-in Hybrid, and Battery Electric Vehicles. The training featured practical demonstrations and a site visit, focusing on emergency response protocols, battery safety, and safe handling techniques.
