From Lab to Market 2024 – Empowering Researchers! 💡🔬🚀👩🔬👨🔬🌍 it's over and our team finally had a get-together dinner where we could sit down and reflect on our journey with From Lab to Market 2024, a collaborative project led by Aalto Startup Center, Aalto Ventures Program, Aalto Entrepreneurship Society, A Grid, and Aalto Innovation Services . Here are a few key achievements: 1. We gathered nearly 500 signups for our 6 events. 2. We inspired roughly 170 Aalto University's researchers. 3. All our speakers held C-level, executive, or advisory roles. 4. Our speakers represented prominent companies like: Hyperion Robotics, Business Finland, Aalto University, IQM Quantum Computers, Kuva Space, Varjo, epicMeets, Pixieray, CuRen. In case you missed it, here is a quick recap: 🔋 CuRen, a Research to Business case from Aalto University, won the Fortum Spark Innovation Challenge. Congratulations! 🍃 Amertate, among other startups from our portfolio, had their own booth at the event (go to our Instagram to check out our video with them). 🔥 Tai, ecosystem builder at Aalto Startup Center, kept on doing an amazing job hosting the Impact stage for the second and last day. 💥 Other startups from our community were around the venue having meetings with investors, such as Nite Labs Ltd. We will be heading to Slush this week from 20-21 November! As we reach the phase where we spinoff from Aalto University and transition to a #copper #flowbattery manufacturer here in Finland, Slush has always been the go-to place for us to create new connections and partnerships across the deep-tech and innovation-heavy industries 💡 Furthermore we will have a exhibition booth together with Aalto Startup Center on the 2nd day, so if you're at Slush, do drop by and we would be happy to chat with you! 🤝 Who are we? (L-R below) San Vo is an experienced mechanical engineer responsible for developing a production line for our battery manufacture Paul Wong who has been with us since the start of CuRen, is our commercial lead in charge of our go-to-market and fundraising efforts Wouter Dirk Badenhorst is the brains behind our technology, having rapidly developed it from a small-scale experimental setup to a fully-functional prototype in just over a year Sakari Syväniemi is a chemical engineer who has made vast improvements in energy density and efficiency, helping to advance the tech immensely.
