ADVENt Calendar # 2 🕯️🕯️ We have established strong, long-term partnerships with our customers that we are truly proud of. Behind every successful partnership story, new agreement and energy transition are our valued and skilled suppliers, consultants and contractors. 🤝 Our customers don’t have to be energy experts – because we are, and so are our suppliers. And by coming together, we drive the energy transition. This year we commissioned Adven's renewable energy production plant at Neste's Naantali terminal in Finland. The project was completed ahead of schedule. One of the key elements of this success was, of course, the excellent collaboration with our customer, but especially the reliable contractors we worked with. 🤌 Together, approximately 60 companies and 200 people contributed to the construction work. This incredible amount of collaboration is not an exception in our projects ─ in fact, it’s quite the opposite! [NEWS] We are excited to share that together with Kuusamon energia- ja vesiosuuskunta, we are transforming the district heating production in Kuusamo, Finland. In the future, district heating in Kuusamo city center will be partially produced using electricity. ⚡   "EVO chose Adven as its partner based on a long-standing collaborative relationship. We found Adven to be a reliable and competent partner. With this new agreement, we are strengthening our partnership well into the 2030s," says Mika Mankinen, CEO of Kuusamo Energy and Water Cooperative.   Adven and Kuusamo EVO have been partners for over 30 years. By introducing electricity in the district heating, the companies reduce the dependence on fossil fuels while also enabling automatic optimization of energy production and stabilizing energy price. Mirka's Oravais factory is now heated with renewable energy! 🔥🌱   Adven and Mirka, a world leading manufacturer of abrasive products, have the past months worked on a joint project in Finnish city of Oravais. And yesterday, our experts visited Mirka's factory, concluding that the heating part of the project is complete, just in time for the winter season 💪❄️   The solution as such is fully based on renewable energy; combining geoenergy, solar power and an electric boiler. This means we have closed down two old oil boilers, and at the same time, the factory’s heating-related emissions have been reduced to zero. 🔋➡️0️   In the future, Adven will supply the factory with carbon-neutral heat using heat pumps, which will utilize the factory's waste heat and 80 geothermal wells. The use of an electric boiler and the old pellet boiler will ensure sufficient heating even during the coldest winter temperatures. ♨️🔋   Now that the energy center is up and running, with just the finishing touches remaining, the project will continue next year with the installation of a solar power plant, which will provide renewable electricity for both the factory and the energy center. ☀️⚡   The project has been granted NextGenerationEU funding from the European Union. #energytransition #renewableenergy #geoenergy #solarpower #solarenergy #wasteheat #electricboiler #EnergyAsAService

Adven & Igniting leadership Our leadership development journey, Ignite, started only one and a half months ago but has already, in a very short time, begun shaping the way our leaders collaborate, reflect, and lead their teams. During the past weeks the participants completed a series of transformative training sessions utilizing the LinkedIn for Learning environment. This is what they went through: 🟠 Modern and science-based leadership habits  🟠 Building a culture of appreciation  🟠 Shaping organizational culture “We’ve just started the journey, but the shift in how participants are approaching leadership is already noticeable. They have shifted to more collaborative leadership styles, launched appreciation initiatives and refined team cultures. Ongoing group support keeps leaders engaged and motivated. This development journey is an exciting process, and I’m looking forward to seeing where it takes us,” says Ivi Aluoja, Program Manager and HR Director. The next training module will cover topics such as self-awareness, seeking feedback, managing stress, and building consistent habits. These training sessions will guide participants in understanding their motivations, overcoming obstacles, and applying strategies for long-term change.
