Happy New Year, everyone! What better way to kick off 2025 than by introducing another member of our team? ✨ Meet Vilma Holkko, an Associate Trainee at Bergmann. Vilma, currently in her fifth year of law studies at the University of Turku, joined us following her traineeship with the National Land Survey of Finland.   "I started working at Bergmann in early September and have since had the opportunity to assist our lawyers in a wide variety of assignments. I have, among other things, drafted and reviewed documents and completed various research projects."   💡What are you currently excited about in your job?   "At the moment, I am excited about my versatile work duties. For example, in the few weeks before the holidays, I assisted in the preparation of a share purchase agreement, conducted research on collective agreements, and prepared applications for the Trade Register. Additionally, I am looking forward to participating in a renewable energy-related event early this year."   🎯 What motivated you to apply to Bergmann?   "I have long been interested in property issues and construction law. The construction and energy sectors play a pivotal role in addressing climate change, and with the ongoing regulatory changes in Finland, there is plenty to learn and do in the field. Bergmann's focus on renewable energy projects aligns perfectly with my interests, so an internship here seemed like a good opportunity to get to know the field in practice."   ✨ What has been the most surprising and memorable aspects of your training experience so far?   "The most rewarding aspect of my internship has been the constructive feedback I’ve received on my work. This feedback, along with the discussions I’ve had regarding assignments, has significantly influenced the way I think and approach legal problems. The internship has been a learning experience that goes beyond what is taught at university. A memorable project that stands out is a real estate transaction-related assignment I was involved in right at the beginning of my internship. In this project, I was able to utilize my experience from the National Land Survey and was involved in drafting and commenting on the documents related to the transaction from start to finish."   #TeamBergmann #MeetOurTeam

This year, we've settled into our new offices, welcomed new colleagues, and worked on a variety of exciting projects.   We also stepped out of the office, with travels across Finland and abroad, connecting with people near and far. The combination of renewable energy and energy storage is widely recognised as the cornerstone for creating a balanced and economically viable green grid, crucial for the future of the electricity market. After an exciting first day in Vilnius, our team continued to explore the city. We started our morning with a guided walking tour of the historic Old Town and the bohemian district of Užupis, a self-declared “republic” with its own quirky constitution and a flair for the creative. While the constitution might not hold up in court, it certainly captured the spirit of the district. 🏛️🖌️   Next, we delved into the history of Lukiškės Prison. Walking through its shadowy corridors and learning about its past from the perspective of former inmates offered a unique glimpse into a lesser-seen side of the city’s history. 🔒⛓️   In the afternoon, we had some free time to explore landmarks, hunt for souvenirs, or simply enjoy a pint or two. We reunited in the evening for a 10-course tasting menu that showcased the rich and diverse flavours of Lithuanian cuisine. 🍺🍴   It was an unforgettable experience – see you again someday, Vilnius!   #TeamAdventures #Vilnius #PreChristmasTrip
