This spring, we are hosting two open webinars for international executives interested in the Boardman Membership. The first webinar will take place on March 11th from 8:30 AM to 9:15 AM (UTC+2). During the session: 🔷 Tuomo Haukkovaara will give a brief overview of the Boardman English-language membership, "Boardman Membership." 🔷 Steven ter Horst will share his personal experiences as a Boardman Member. 🔷 Laura Sata-Leinonen, Head of Internal Control at Neste, will explain how completing Boardman’s CG and Board Work in Finland training has supported her in her role. The Internationalization of Finnish Company Boards How international the boards of Finnish companies are becoming? In this event by Boardman Oy the research results presented all the positive effects this can have. While the trend is slow, Finnish companies are increasingly bringing on international board members. However, there are some challenges, like the need to switch the board's language to English. Yksi hallitusarviointeja tekevistä partnereistamme on Ari Virtanen. Videolla Ari kertoo konkreettisen esimerkin hallitusarvioinnin hyödyistä.   Perheyhtiössä tehtiin seuraajasuunnittelua, mutta yhtiön hallituksen jäsenet olivat eri mieltä siitä, millaista osaamista johdossa jatkossa tarvitaan. Erimielisyys johti keskustelua väärään suuntaan ja vaikeutti päätöksentekoa.   “Haastatteluissa selvisi, mistä mielipide-eroissa oli kyse. Kun ymmärrettiin, että hallitus ei jakanut yhtenäistä näkemystä yrityksen tulevaisuuden suunnasta, saatiin tarvittavat linjaukset tehtyä ja seuraajasuunnittelua päästiin ratkomaan oikeiden kysymysten kautta”, Ari kertoo.     Arilla on 35 vuoden johtamiskokemus suurista kansainvälisistä yrityksistä, ja hän on urallaan tehnyt hallitustyötä lukuisissa pienissä, keskisuurissa ja suurissa yrityksissä, monilla eri omistuspohjilla. Boardman LJT:n vuosikokous ja jäsentilaisuus 4.2.2025 kokosi yhteen suuren joukon osallistujia. Vuosikokouksessa hallituksen puheenjohtajaksi valittiin Liljeström Tom ja uusiksi jäseniksi Manne Airaksinen, Suvi Konsti-Laakso ja Anna Lundén. Hallituksessa jatkavat Ossi Aura, Jari Huovinen, Mikko Kosonen ja Hanna Maria Sievinen. Boardmanin toimitusjohtaja Taru Lindeman kiitti Satu Koskinen hänen merkittävästä panoksestaan Boardman LJT:n hallituksen pitkäaikaisena puheenjohtajana. Vuosikokouksen jälkeen ohjelma jatkui jäsentilaisuudella, jonka aiheena oli tuottavuus ja talouskasvu. Alustajana toimi emeritusprofessori Matti Pohjola Aalto-yliopiston kauppakorkeakoulusta, joka on erikoistunut talouskasvun, tuottavuuden ja teknologian kehityksen tutkimukseen.
