Strengthening DEKOTEL’s Leadership – Roland Möller Steps in as CEO We are thrilled to announce that Roland Möller has taken on the role of CEO as of November 1, 2024. Roland brings with him a solid background in finance, risk management, insurance, and capital markets, with extensive leadership experience in these fields since 1993. His career has included roles as a corporate developer and consultant, most recently with Aamu Partners Oy and Gesund Partners. “I have followed Dekotel as a consultant for the past two years, and am obviously impressed by its skills and excellent products. But above all, I’ve been impressed by the good atmosphere and client-centered attitude with which Dekotel has reached its strong position particularly in cruise liner interior materials. The setting is excellent for developing and expanding the business,” Roland said. “I am looking forward to meeting our clients, suppliers and partners to discuss what we could do to improve further.” Roland’s drive for development and his analytical, innovative approach will be valuable assets to our company. His deep understanding of complex business frameworks, strong communication skills, and team-oriented mindset strengthen our organization and support our growth. Our co-founder Tero Kulmalainen, who previously handled CEO responsibilities alongside his Chief Designer and R&D roles, will now focus solely on the latter. Before joining us, Marjut was part of the financial management team at a large international construction company, bringing unmatched experience and professionalism to our team. Marjut’s strengths lie in her accuracy, methodical approach, and overall management skills. Her empathetic way of connecting with people makes a big impact, lifting everyone’s spirits every day. She’s also spearheading our strategic sustainability initiative, driving it forward at an impressive pace. With her natural ability to organize and move things ahead, Marjut is the perfect fit for this role. If there’s no answer or solution, she’ll find one! Outside of work, Marjut enjoys spending time with her family and dogs, reading, listening to audiobooks, and exploring nature—especially foraging for mushrooms. Celebrating 20 Years of Innovation and Excellence As we mark our 20th anniversary, we're proud to reflect on the projects that have shaped Dekotel's journey. Each one, a testament to our commitment and the invaluable collaboration with our stakeholders over the years. In 2007, we had the privilege of working on the Promenade Deck wall surfacing material project aboard the M/S Color Magic. Originally designed with gypsum stone, the material proved challenging due to its weight and installation difficulty. Dekotel was invited to innovate a solution, and we responded by using aluminum with a decorative surface treatment, achieving the desired aesthetic while offering significant advantages—lightweight, easy installation, enhanced safety with reduced fire load, and exceptional wear-resistance.
