The World Intellectual Property Organization – WIPO launched the third edition of the Green Technology Book, focusing on energy solutions for climate change. Featuring over 200 examples of renewable energy and energy efficiency innovations, the book showcases how thriving innovation ecosystems drive practical progress in tackling global issues. We are proud to share that one of our grantees, Mobility for Africa, is featured as an exemplary case in this edition. Mobility for Africa develops solar-powered electric tricycles tailored for rural, off-road environments. These renewable-powered vehicles are designed to enhance mobility, create economic opportunities, and promote sustainable development in underserved communities. 🌟 New Grantee Spotlight! 🌟 Presenting Simusolar Tanzania, a Tanzanian company transforming agriculture through solar energy! Simusolar provides solar-powered irrigation systems in Tanzania and Uganda, expanding the availability of off-grid PAYG Bridge controllers, which make lease-to-own affordability plans accessible to farmers in underserved regions. Their innovative project will deploy customised irrigation systems to smallholder farmers using a proprietary mobile phone app, empowering farmers with technology to enhance productivity and sustainability. 🌍The EEP Africa donors gathered for three days in Cape Town, South Africa, for the annual Supervisory Board meeting to discuss the activities and results for the fund over the past year.
