Findata’s data transfer services are being renewed – the new secure transfer service, Supertunneli, will be gradually introduced starting 1 April 2025. ℹ Based on the S3 interface, Supertunneli (Finnish for ‘super tunnel’) enables smoother transfers of larger datasets, with automatic encryption and decryption. “The implementation will be done in stages, starting with the data holders whose datasets are most frequently used through Findata,” says Dr. Hannu Vilpponen, Head of ICT at Findata. The development of the transfer services is part of the EU co-funded #FinHITS project. Read more: https://lnkd.in/g9sFJX58 #HealthData #DataTransfer #EU4Health

How were the costs of secondary use distributed in 2024? 🔹 Findata’s share of the total costs decreased from 35% to 27%. This decline is partly explained by reduced permit fees for researcher-initiated studies and increased efficiency in data processing. 🔹 Data controllers’ extraction costs increased – the ten highest-charging data controllers accounted for 90% of the extraction costs. 🔹 Payments for using the secure processing environment Kapseli were a quarter higher than in 2023. In total, €2.2 million was paid through Findata for the secondary use of social and health data. Read more in our Annual report: findata.fi/annualreport #HealthData #AnnualReport #SecondaryUse

Miten toisiokäytön kustannukset jakautuivat vuonna 2024? 🔹 Findatan osuus kokonaiskustannuksista pieneni 35 prosentista 27 prosenttiin. Laskua selittää muun muassa alennetut lupamaksut tutkijalähtöisille tutkimuksille ja aineiston käsittelyn tehostuminen. 🔹 Rekisterinpitäjien poimintakulut kasvoivat – kymmenen eniten laskuttanutta rekisterinpitäjää kattoi 90 % poimintakuluista. 🔹 Kapselin käytöstä maksettiin viime vuonna neljänneksen enemmän kuin vuonna 2023. Yhteensä Findatan kautta maksettiin 2,2 miljoonaa euroa sote-tietojen luvista ja aineistoista. Lue lisää vuosikatsauksesta: findata.fi/vuosikatsaus #terveysdata #tietolupa #vuosikatsaus #Findata

The #EHDS preparations are moving fast, and collaboration across member states is more important than ever. Read our Development Manager Maari Parkkinen's key takeaways from last week’s General Assembly of the #EHDS2 Community of Practice ⬇
Three days of discussions and collaboration for solving problems in Community of Practice’s General Assembly and subgroup meetings. It has been intensive yet rewarding three days. The community of practice and EHDS secondary use preparation progress rapidly and discussions on implementation have a level of detail that was not there a year ago, in the first General Assembly. Here are some personal key takeaways from the discussions in the meetings and on coffee breaks: 👣 Maturity level and a detail of national implementation plans vary in different MSs. ✨ One of the most challenging things will be collaboration between member states and HealthData@EU services - from technical and practical point of views. 💫 What it comes to building AI-based healthcare solutions, we are in the very beginning of the journey and EHDS2 will hopefully open up great opportunities. 👀 In the same time we should learn from the countries already implementing EHDS-like system (such as Finland) but keep in mind that different countries have unique ecosystems and one solution doesn’t necessarily fit all. 🤝 Collaboration with national stakeholders is extremely important while developing national solutions.🙌 There is a strong will to make EHDS reality and a lot of highly-skilled people working on it. We should set our goals high while building the whole ecosystem.

Greetings from sunny Malta! 🌞 This week some of our team joined the third General Assembly of the #EHDS2 Community of Practice in Valletta. It was a great opportunity to connect with organisations working on the future Health Data Access Bodies and the European Health Data Space. We had plenty of valuable discussions on implementing direct grant initiatives and exchanging best practices. Thank you for great discussions, valuable insights, and, of course, a beautiful setting here in Malta! #EHDS #HDAB #HealthData #HealthUnion #EU4Health
