Today, we celebrate Alvar and Aino Aalto and Finnish Architecture & Design Day, and what better place to do so than in one of Aalto’s iconic buildings, our headquarters – Sugar Cube (Sokeripala) in Helsinki in Kanavaranta 1! We’ve now been working in this stunning space for about a year, and we couldn’t be happier. The natural light, clean lines, and timeless design – hallmarks of Aalto’s architecture – create an inspiring environment for working with renewable energy. What makes this office special for our team? For some, it's the breathtaking city views; for others, it's the open, airy spaces. And of course, the location in the heart of Helsinki is hard to beat! Timeless architecture, a great work environment, and a commitment to a sustainable future – a combination that just works. #AlvarAalto #Sokeripala #SugarCube #Helsinki #Architecture #Design #Workplace #RenewableEnergy Images: DEKA

We have submitted the environmental permit application for the Uppsalebo solar park project in Västervik municipality, in Sweden. Covering 380 hectares, this 290 MW project is set to become one of Sweden’s largest solar parks, driving renewable energy production in the region. This milestone reflects Ilmatar’s commitment to expanding green energy in southern Sweden, alongside our other two major projects Tönnersjö and Olivehult. Now, awaiting approval to start construction, with a target completion date of 2034. https://lnkd.in/dinaVgtu #RenewableEnergy #SolarPower #Sustainability (Image from Joroinen, Finland)

🎉 PK-yritysten vastuullisuusryhmä on tullut päätökseensä! 🎉 Syyskuussa käynnistyneen ryhmän toinen kierros päättyi tänään sessioon vastuullisuusviestinnästä. 🔎 Mitä EU:n viherpesusääntely – vihreän siirtymän kuluttajansuojadirektiivi ja Green Claims -direktiivi – tarkoittaa yrityksille? Uskaltaako kohta sanoa enää mitään vastuullisuudesta? Miten viestiä kiristyvän sääntelyn aikakaudella? Lämmin kiitos aiheen alustuksesta Maria Ruuska (Kaskas), ja Cecilia Hertzberg kun pääsimme kuulemaan yritysesimerkkejä Ilmatar'en työstä! 🤝 PK-yritysten vastuullisuusryhmässä on tänä vuonna ollut mukana Canatu, Castellum Finland, Evitec Solutions, Faros & Com, Konvertia Group, Logitri Oy, Meca-Trade Oy, NAPA, Pentti Hämeenaho Oy, Promeco Group Oy, Rukakeskus Ltd / Pyhätunturi Ltd, Secto Automotive, Sponda, Touchpoint Oy ja Ylijoki Metsäenergia Oy. Iso kiitos myös tänään mukana olleille vastuullisuusryhmän alumneille: Enfuce, Heino Group Oy, Ilmatar, Kaskas, Nitor, Van Ameyde Marine (Nordics, Baltics & Ukraine) ja Wolttigroup! Suuret onnittelut kaikille ryhmäläisille, ja kiitos aktiivisesta osallistumisesta kuluneen syksyn ja talven aikana! 🌟 #PKYritys #Yritysvastuu

Wind turbines are becoming a familiar sight in the Nordic landscape, playing a vital role in the green transition. Despite this, they are sometimes criticized for the noise they generate. But how much noise does a wind farm actually produce? Read more about our approach to noise and wind power on our website. #WindPower #CleanEnergy #Sustainability #Turbines https://lnkd.in/ddn2ADmR

We had the priviledge to witness the installation of the last turbine in our Korpilevonmäki wind farm in Säkylä, Satakunta region, together with Joost Notenboom and Chiayen Lin from Omnes. With all six turbines now installed, the wind farm is set to produce approximately 125 GWh of renewable energy annually, with each turbine delivering 6.4 MW of capacity. Quick facts: Height: 248.35 m (with blades), 169 m (without). Tower: Built from 7 sections, installed using two cranes. Blades: 79.35 m long, 162 m rotor diameter. The substation will soon be connected, energizing the turbines for commissioning. Production starts in early 2025! #WindEnergy #RenewableEnergy #Sustainability #Korpilevonmäki

Inspiring insights over Lunch & Learn! We had the pleasure of hosting Joost Notenboom and Chiayen Lin from Omnes Capital, Paris to share their knowledge on integrating sustainability into investment processes and business practices. Key takeaways: "Knowledge sharing is the key to accelerating the energy transition." By learning together, we build a stronger foundation for sustainable growth. "Circularity makes sense." Shifting towards energy independence opens new business opportunities, while reducing reliance on global supply chains. In addition to gaining fresh insights, the shared lunch moments highlight the value of connection and community at work. #Lunch&Learn #Sustainability #Circularity #Ilmatar
