  • Growth and boundaries. Yesterday we had the pleasure of having Piritta Salli, head of HR at Adecco Finland as a guest speaker at our Tuesday Webinar. Piritta shared her valuable perspectives about integrating DEI into their work and processes. When asked by a participant about how Piritta manages resistance to DEI Piritta's answer was crystal clear: growth and boundaries. Piritta described how much of the resistance she faces is about a lack of knowledge, and that a first step when meeting resistance is to allow the person to learn and grow. But not always is this the solution. At times resistance is about more than a lack of knowledge. And then boundaries are needed. When for instance facing a client with discriminatory demands. Your organizational values, your DEI policy, your code of conduct are all outlining the boundaries no one in the organization can let go of. Thank you Piritta for your insights and generosity! 🙏 The next webinar is on March 4th and the topic is “Getting ready for Pride: Responsible LGBTQ+ allyship”. Sign up link in the comments.

  • Castrén & Snellman Named the Most Inclusive Organization in the State of Inclusion 2024 Webinar! The most inclusive organization was revealed today at the State of Inclusion 2024 webinar. The award went to Castrén & Snellman, Finland’s oldest and one of the largest law firms. What is it that sets Castrén & Snellman apart? Both majority and minority employees reported high levels of inclusion in the State of Inclusion survey — minority employees even rated their experiences slightly higher than the majority. In the webinar, Outi Ruohola, HR Director at Castrén & Snellman, described how education and increasing awareness have been a great way for them, as an expert organization, to approach the topic. She also said that measuring progress has been a central aspect of their work. We know that making DEI progress requires a lot of determination and dedication. Bravo, Castrén & Snellman, for the great work done!

  • Glad Svenska dagen! Today, November 6th, we celebrate Svenska dagen in Finland, a day that honors Swedish as Finland's second national language and the Swedish-speaking community, which makes up around 5% of the population. This celebration is a great moment for reflecting on how this linguistic diversity has shaped society, its structures, and practices. At Includia, we always find inspiration in linguistic diversity, and we are happy to work in both Finnish and Swedish. Glad Svenska dagen, everyone!
