During Slush week, we had the privilege of joining forces with Krogerus and Altor Equity Partners to host the Krogerus Kickback. Wrapping up Slush 2024, we want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who made the week so special. From inspiring conversations to impactful events, it was a week filled with meaningful connections, collaborations, and exciting ideas. One of the many highlights of the week was co-hosting the Executive Breakfast at Café Savoy, where visionary leaders gathered to discuss the transformative potential of industrial tech, AI, robotics, and quantum computing. 🌟🚀 A special thank you to our incredible co-hosts: Combient Foundry, SEB, PwC, NGP Capital, and Matterwave Ventures. Your collaboration made it all possible. We’re also deeply thankful to our inspiring speakers—Mikko Möttönen from QMill, Péter Fankhauser from ANYbotics, and Joe Fitzsimons from Horizon Quantum—for sharing their visionary insights. A few key takeaways from the discussion: ➡️ Robots are ready to handle repetitive daily tasks and address practical problems. Building trust takes time, but as people see robots solving real challenges efficiently, the narrative will shift from robots stealing jobs to "robots providing solutions." ➡️ Quantum computing is about 2.5 years from being used in production workloads for regulated industries. Its initial breakthroughs will benefit sectors like finance and physical simulations in fields such as chemistry and energy. ➡️  Academia should prioritize developing components and innovations that push quantum computing forward. Universities excel in their ability to take a long-term view (10–15 years), complementing startups that focus on immediate, practical applications.
