Metsä Board has been recognized by CDP with a triple ‘A’ score for leadership on climate change, forests and water security for the third time. ✨   Based on data reported through CDP’s 2024 Climate Change, Forests and Water Security thematic questionnaires, Metsä Board is one of a small number of companies that achieved a triple A, out of over 22,000 companies scored.   “We have ambitious sustainability targets including 100% fossil free production and products, and reduced process water use by the end of 2030. In our wood supply, we promote regenerative forestry practices to strengthen the status of forest nature. The high score in CDP assessments year after year is a confirmation on the positive progress of our systematic work," says Mika Joukio, CEO of Metsä Board.   This is the ninth year that Metsä Board achieved the position on the CDP Climate A list and the CDP Water A list. Our 2024 results are published. The positive momentum in the paperboard market in H1 faded towards the end of the year, and total sales volumes remained below capacity. Profitability was negatively affected by several events beyond our control and high cost level. Our financial position is solid, despite the large scale investments we have made in recent years. Metsä Board in cooperation with Metsä Tissue will start a pre-engineering project to investigate potential change of product produced on Husum BM2.
