💥 We're excited to announce that Quanscient, a Tampere-based startup and Platform6 alumnus since November 2024 (and member since November 2021), has raised €5.2 million in growth funding. This new funding, led by Crowberry Capital with contributions from Speen Holding, Maki.vc, and First Fellow Partners, will accelerate Quanscient’s mission to transform engineering simulation with quantum technology. Quanscient has pioneered a multiphysics simulation platform that combines cloud-native multiphysics algorithms, advanced cloud computing, and future quantum integration. Their unique approach allows companies in sectors like fusion energy, advanced semiconductors, and biomedical devices to reduce development time and costs. Recently, Quanscient made industry headlines as the first to run Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations on real quantum hardware. With this funding, Quanscient will further develop its quantum algorithms, including plans for a quantum product pilot in early 2025. The platform’s enhanced simulation capacity allows engineers to explore multiple design alternatives and iterate faster — a major advantage in high-tech fields like 6G/7G, automotive, and aerospace. Notable speakers include, for example, Elon Musk. Tim Draper is one of the most influential investors in tech, having funded giants like Baidu, Inc., Tesla, SpaceX, Skype, Twitch, Hotmail, Robinhood, and 15 other unicorns from their seed stage. The selected Finnish startups have received a full scholarship covering program fees, accommodation, activities, and events, valued at $12,000 each, to attend the program. Big news from our community! We’re excited to share that TheStorage, our valued member since October 2023, has successfully closed a €1 million funding round. 🎉 The investment, led by 2C Ventures (Hendrik Reimand) and Superhero Capital (Jussi Pyörre), will support TheStorage’s mission to decarbonise industrial heat with their innovative sand-based thermal energy storage system. This technology has the potential to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions in industrial processes by utilising renewable energy more effectively. A huge congratulations to the founding team — Olli Hannula, Timo Siukkola, Heikki Hannula, and Esko Kulju — on this achievement! This investment will allow them to develop a proof-of-concept system and continue their work with industrial partners to create more sustainable energy solutions.
