MFA has long been the go-to protocol, but methods like SMS and authentication apps are no longer sufficient to defend against modern cyber threats. As phishing attacks and other advanced tactics evolve, businesses must adopt stronger security measures. FIDO2 offers a passwordless, phishing-resistant solution that provides enhanced protection. Watch this video to learn more about how FIDO2 can strengthen your security.

During my summer holidays, I couldn't help but notice a surge in the suspicious emails I'd received. Mainly emails that asked me to confirm flights and hotel reservations I haven't booked! Why is summer a hot season for phishers? The answer lies in our behavior: During holidays, we tend to be more distracted and less vigilant. We eagerly seek quick online deals and spend much more time outside. This means we’re more likely to use random public Wi-Fi without ensuring its safety. Cybercriminals capitalize on this rush and inattention, by launching targeted attacks. What usually looks like a suspicious kind of deal, starts to look milder amidst the noise of all the summer offers. In fact, during last summer, cybersecurity firm Norton reported a 45% increase in travel-related phishing scams. These scams often masquerade as emails or messages from reputable travel agencies, offering irresistible deals or urgent booking confirmations. And it’s not only the “too good to be true” offers that are scams. For all we know, you could be booking a flight through what appears to be a legitimate airline email. Suddenly, you’re led to a malicious website that steals your personal information. Learn more about common types of holiday phishing scams and how to stay in the clear: https://lnkd.in/dfk2hGhK

Whenever you use a password to authenticate yourself for a service, you are relying on two main components: A username which is normally public, and its password. In theory, your password is a secret, but in practice, you are sharing that secret with at least two other parties: the service you’re accessing and the server on which it is stored to allow verification. You can already tell this lays the perfect ground for a man-in-the-middle attack scenario. But go read our article still to learn about the dangers of relying on the traditional ways of authentication, and how passwordless is the new secure.
How is Passwordless more secure?

These recurring trends might seem harmless at first; I mean what could possibly go wrong with oversharing personal details with friends, family, followers and third parties? 🙄 These posts reveal more personal details than you would normally share in written format such as favorite activities, pets' names, hometowns and the other stuff you use as security-question answers. 👀 Social media platforms and third parties may collect and use the shared information for targeted advertising, profiling, or even selling the data to other entities. The worst part is that cybercriminals can use shared information to craft convincing phishing scams: When someone knows that much about you, they can pretend they’re a close one, and lure you into divulging even more sensitive information. Not to mention that information shared in these posts can be used to guess passwords and answer security questions.
