🚀 We're thrilled to announce the kick-off of the SUPER Co-Innovation Project 🌱 The vision behind SUPER is to transform the latest scientific #breakthroughs from the FinnCERES Flagship Programme into a competitive edge for Finnish industry. In this project, we're unlocking the true potential of #fibre-water interactions and harnessing the unique water-responsive behaviour of cellulosic fibres in ways never before emphasised. #SUPER will capitalise on the high hygroscopicity of #cellulose to revolutionise bio-based materials engineering. Here’s what we aim to achieve: 1️⃣ Boost the performance of #recycled fibres 2️⃣ Tailor #pulp fibres for innovative bio-based products 3️⃣ Develop cellulose-based porous materials for water #purification and #composite applications 4️⃣ Enhance the durability and moisture resistance of #textile fibres and fabrics Follow us on LinkedIn for research updates! In the SUPER Co-Innovation Business Finland project, the true potential of fibre-water interactions will be revealed.
About us
The vision of SUPER Co-Innovation project is to transfer the latest scientific excellence generated in the FinnCERES Flagship Programme into competitive advantage of the Finnish industry. In SUPER the true potential of fibre-water interactions is revealed. The peculiar water responsive behaviour of cellulosic fibres will be harnessed in enhancing the performance of challenging poorly binding fibres as well as in developing completely new bio-based products. SUPER will capitalise the high hygroscopicity of cellulose on bio-based materials engineering - an aspect which has not been previously much emphasised. SUPER will 1) boost the performance of recycled fibres, 2) tailor pulp fibres specifically for new bio-based products c) develop cellulose-based porous materials for water purification and composite applications 4) enhance the durability and moisture resistance of textile fibres and fabrics.
