About us
We are developing SURGERIX solution which will be a software to improve surgical ergonomics, patient safety and outcomes in microsurgery. The solution is based on advanced math-based realtime video processing, a While we are developing a new technology for surgeons, we are also creating better outcomes for the patients. We provide surgeons with unique microscopic views for safer, more efficient and shorter time of surgery. Our software facilitate minimally invasive surgeries with remarkable impact on post-operative hospital stay and involved health care workers. SURGERIX is a solution that is being prepared for commercialization in a Research-to-Business project ER4Surgery at UEF #HUMEA Lab in collaboration with Microsurgery Center of Eastern Finland. The project is co-financed by Business Finland. We are currently looking for seed investors. Please contact us for more info and online intro.

Last week in Geneva ⛰ Our research-to-business team represented our solution of Future of Microsurgery, as well as our essential home organizations Kuopio University Hospital (KUH) - Kuopion yliopistollinen sairaala (KYS), Microsurgerycenter of Eastern Finland, and University of Eastern Finland Ahmed Hussein, Gaukhar Mukash and Paavo V. expanded our professional network in field of Virtual Reality and Healthcare. We learned about #VR usage in surgical training and performance assessment 🔬🧠 Funding by Business Finland has enabled us to achieve this stage, we're a proud member of Health Incubator Helsinki!
🌟 some reflections on the IVRHA Europe Symposium 2024 🌟 It was a real pleasure for the Virtual Medicine Center to host the IVRHA (International Virtual Reality and Healthcare Association) Europe Symposium in Switzerland for the first time 🇨🇭 Over two days, we explored the chances, challenges, and growing successes of #VirtualReality in healthcare, with an amazing mix of speakers — from practitioners and researchers, haptics (SenseGlove) to deep-tech (ORamaVR) start-ups (Softcare Studios), and healthcare companies (HypnoVR). The diversity of perspectives sparked a number of discussions and will hopefully lead to exciting collaborations. Personally, this event also reinforced the value of smaller, single-track conferences. Speakers and attendees were able to ask questions, exchange ideas, and dive deeper in their own time. It was also a good example of why in-person meetings are irreplaceable. While I benefit from and promote flexible, remote work as much as possible, these informal chats by the coffee machine, lunch conversations, and sharing anecdotes over fondue dinner 🫕 are some of the best moments. A huge thank you to Bob Fine for bringing IVRHA to HUG - Hopitaux Universitaires de Genève and to our speakers and attendees for making this event the success that it was.
