Recently, there has been a lively discussion about the ideal work environment, how office spaces should be designed, and how to get employees to return to the office. But what do Finns really want from their offices? 🧐 In a survey we commissioned through YouGov’s Omnibus online panel, 𝟰𝟲% 𝗼𝗳 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗶𝗻 𝗽𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗲 one of the most important things at the office. What Finns actually do when working from home? A survey we commissioned reveals that doing the laundry is topping the list of activities Finns engage in while working from home. Other popular activities during working hours include cleaning, pretending to work, watching television, and sleeping. 💡 However, rather than intentionally avoiding work, employees may take on other tasks during working hours because they feel the need for breaks. 🗨️ “It is important to take breaks, even when working remotely. In the office, employees naturally take breaks by getting coffee or chatting with colleagues. Similarly, in a home office, doing tasks like filling the washing machine or light cleaning can help break up the workday and maintain energy levels,” says Jaana von Bell, Concept Manager for Workspace and Customer Solutions at Technopolis. #technopolis #worklife

We already know that open-plan offices annoy Norwegians and Finns the most in the office, but what about the Swedes? 🤔 According to a recent survey conducted by YouGov for Technopolis, malfunctioning technical equipment is the most annoying thing for Swedes at the office. The open-plan office isn’t far behind, ranking as the second most irritating issue. 🗨️ "It’s not surprising that people get annoyed at work, as everyone has different preferences and ways of working. The survey highlights an often-overlooked aspect: a 'one-size-fits-all' approach won’t create a workplace attractive to all employees.
