Will the EU Commission's decision threaten the future of paint manufacturing in the EU? This week, the EU Commission will vote on anti-dumping duties for titanium dioxide (TiO₂) from China - a critical raw material for our industry. While we understand the goal of fair trade, implementing these duties immediately and in full puts sustainability, competitiveness, and thousands of EU jobs at risk. That’s why we’re proposing a phased approach - to give the industry time to adapt, ensure supply chain stability, and maintain high-quality production standards. Learn more about our proposal in the comments.

How do you optimize energy in your business? At our paint manufacturing plants, we focus on 2 key areas: • Using sustainable energy sources. • Reducing the energy required to produce our paints. Our manufacturing plant in Poland has now finished installing solar panels, and continues to optimize energy usage on a daily basis.

Are you using the painting booth as a drying area? That’s a costly mistake. Here’s why 👇 The painting booth should be where you make money – where parts are painted and moved out quickly. Leaving parts to dry for 1-2-3 hours in the booth blocks production and adds unnecessary costs. Instead, paint the parts and move them directly to the drying area. By doing this, you keep the painting booth free for continuous production, boosting productivity, lowering costs, and making your painting process more cost-effective.

We’re aiming even higher. We’re already helping our customers achieve their sustainability goals and contributing to the Green Transition. But we’re not stopping there. As the only paints and coatings company, we joined the Nordic Circular Design Programme (NCDP) to explore specific, practical ways to implement circularity in our industry. Trevor Fielding, Thomas Palm and Anne Mette Oddsen participated in the NCDP event this week. In our industry, sustainability covers many aspects, and durability is one of them. We aim to create products that last longer, use less energy and generate fewer emissions. With the new program we are diving even deeper into the possibilities of design optimization, recycled materials, waste reduction and product reuse. They left the event inspired, with fresh ideas to support their customers' sustainable efforts in the future.

Why do we talk about high volume solid paints? As Christer Ohlsson, Business Development Manager at Teknos, mentions in the video, high volume solid paints mean you get more paint in a can. High volume solid paints have a greater concentration of solid particles. This means they contain less solvent and more pigment and binder, which results in better coverage with fewer coats. This reduces the overall amount of paint needed. Switching to high volume solid paints can lead to significant cost reductions in the painting process. Could high volume solid paints be the next step in optimizing your production?
